Studio KT1, a creative agency at Kingston College of Art, has partnered with the Canary Wharf Group to add more colourful, creative and original art packaging to its stores at JubileePlace Shopping Centre. As a result, selected student works are posted on the windows of selected stores, which enhances the shopping and retail environment for customers and provides a unique opportunity for up-and-coming artists.

At the beginning of the summer, students recommended their project designs to the Canary Wharf Group, highlighting bold, bright and compelling design concepts. Out of 14 entrants from different courses, Louise Hung's work was selected for its refreshing design and highlighting sustainability and biodiversity. The work depicts a futuristic fantasy landscape full of life, and her illustrations show a variety of colorful animals and wildlife worlds.

Louise Hung, a magna laude in animation and illustration at Kingston University, her winning work was exhibited throughout the fall at Jubilee Place mall in Canary Wharf. This illustration was inspired by biologist E. Lee. O. Wilson wrote Half Earth," she explains, "Half Earth calls for people to protect land and oceans and to set aside enough habitat to preserve much of biodiversity." I'm fortunate to have this opportunity to address topics that matter most to me, such as ecology, sustainable development and our planet. ”

Studio KT1 is a creative agency within kingston University's School of Art that offers students the opportunity to work on paid on-site design projects during their studies. Claire Selby, Head of Corporate Programmes at the University, leads the organisation in working with many high-profile clients, including Unilever, BBC R&D (BBC R&D) and Veolia. It also partnered with Kingston First on the Kingston Canvas project to package its vacant storefront window in kingston district of the River Thames with artwork.

Keith Watson, public art curator at Canary Wharf Group, said he was delighted to offer such an opportunity to students. The winning project brings an ingenious and innovative approach to illustration, which will also enhance the shopping experience for customers. ”

Selby said the success of the project once again proved the value of students doing illustration work in real life and gained valuable experience from it. "We are very pleased that in the face of difficulties, closures or cancellations of traditional exhibition spaces, we are still able to provide creative opportunities for young talent at Kingston College of Art. Thanks to our collaboration with Keith and his team at The Canary Wharf Group, we were able to present Louise's work to a large audience in a highly crowded area. ”

The Canary Wharf Group's public art collection contains more than 75 permanent works by more than 50 world-renowned artists and craftsmen, and Louise's creation is the group's latest work.
