Tesla Full AutoPilot FSD Beta 10.9 Push: Unprotected left turns are more natural

IT House January 17 news, Tesla has begun to push FSD Beta 10.9 update, according to the update instructions, V10.9 has some incremental changes, providing a significant improvement in the actual performance of FSD Beta.

Tesla Full AutoPilot FSD Beta 10.9 Push: Unprotected left turns are more natural

FSD Beta 10.9 appears to be part of Tesla's software update 2021.44.30.10. The famous Tesla hacker @greentheonly said that Tesla has also launched a new map update in 2021.44.30.10, and the updated map may make Tesla users have a better experience when traveling.

A look at the updated notes for V10.9 reveals that Tesla is working to make the FSD beta drive more like a human driver, with references to a "more natural" unprotected left turn and a "calmer" start when a deceleration is about to occur ahead, which should make driving smoother than before.

The following are the specific release notes for FSD Beta 10.9:

The extent and right-of-way assignment of intersections was improved by modeling them from dense rasters ("point packs") to sparse instances. Intersection area IOUs increased by 4.2%. The sparse intersection network was the first model to deploy an autoregressive structure, running at low latency on a TRIP Al accelerator chip through innovations in the Al compiler stack.

By adding 10-bit inference support to the Al compiler stack, the generalized static object network was upgraded to use 10-bit photon count streams instead of 8-bit ISP tone mapping images. Overall recalls increased by 3.9% and accuracy by 1.7%.

Make it more natural for an unprotected left turn to cross the oncoming lane by entering the intersection and giving way directly before starting the turn.

Increased lane preference and topology estimates by 1.2% through network updates and a new navigation trail format.

Short-term lane changes have been improved by better simulating the slowdown required for maneuvering after lane changes.

With better kinematic modeling, the predicted path of objects that are not constrained by lane geometry is improved.

When a deceleration is about to occur ahead, it is more calm to start when it is at a stop.

Improved clearance options when giving way to oncoming traffic streams on narrow roads.

TESLA CEO Elon Musk recently tweeted that the FSD beta should begin rolling out to Canada in the next two to four weeks, though the company plans to "proceed with caution." Musk confirmed that since the FSD beta program was launched in October 2020, there has not been a single accident or injury involving FSD.
