However, betrayal is not a good thing after all, just as Lü Bu, the "slave of the three families" during the Three Kingdoms period, was looked down upon, and during the Republic of China, Feng Yuxiang, known as the "General of defection", was also repeatedly ridiculed.
Some people have also listed Feng Yuxiang's eight defections, but I personally have always believed that it is very unjust to call Feng Yuxiang, who has no losses, a general who has defected. Some of the so-called defections are themselves suspected of making up numbers.
For example, Feng Yuxiang's first rebellion was the anti-Qing Luanzhou Uprising, but it is obvious that launching an anti-Qing uprising is a typical revolutionary move, and the other anti-Qing uprisings are revolutionary heroes, how did Feng Yuxiang become a defector here?

Others, such as the second opposition to participating in the patriotic movement against Yuan Shikai, the anti-Feng movement against Zhang Zuolin, and the participation of the Wuyuan oath master in the Northern Expedition, some of them had a cause, and some of what he opposed was not his superior, and it did not matter what he did not do to defect.
Therefore, during the Republic of China period, although Feng Yuxiang did have a capricious phenomenon of rebellion and rebellion between multiple forces, this was just a common act of the warlords of the Republic of China.
In the face of foreign enemies, especially during the War of Resistance Against Japan, Feng Yuxiang never surrendered to the enemy. Therefore, Feng Yuxiang became the most famous defective general in the Republic of China, and he always felt that he was very wronged.
In fact, I personally believe that the most vicious defecting general in the Republic of China period was not Feng Yuxiang, but Shi Yousan, a subordinate he had singled out and even a traitor.

During the Republic of China period, various warlords promoted generals in different ways. Some people only believe in their fellow villagers, for example, in Yan Xishan's army, there is a saying that "they can speak Wutai dialect before hanging up their foreign knives", because Yan Xishan is a native of Wutai County, Shanxi. Some are based on military academies, such as the famous Chiang Kai-shek Central Army, whose core officers are mostly from the Whampoa Military Academy.
And Because Feng Yuxiang came from the military, most of the generals he reused and promoted started from the most ordinary soldiers, as a general under Feng Yuxiang's command, Shi Yousan was no exception.
Shi Yousan was born in Changchun County, Jilin Province, in the 17th year of Qing Guangxu, that is, in 1891 AD, like most people in the Republic of China, Shi Yousan was born in a poor family in the third year, and his father made a living as a long-term worker for the landlord's family and driving big cars.
Because of the poverty of the family, the young Shi Yousan had just grown up and was placed by his father as an apprentice in a grain house in Changchun City, fortunately, the young Shi Yousan was given the opportunity to read with the owner's son, and as a result, he was given the opportunity to read and read.
Moreover, it was during Shi Yousan's reading that he got acquainted with Shang Zhen, a faculty member of the school, and his teacher-student friendship with Shang Zhen began.
As the days passed, when he was a teenager, Shi Yousan was recalled by his father to get married, however, Shi Yousan's life after marriage was not happy, his wife was very tough, and in the end, the unbearable Shi Yousan chose to leave the family and join the army.
In 1907, Shi Yousan joined the 3rd Standard 1st Battalion of artillery in the Third Town Artillery of the Beiyang Standing Army. At that time, his battalion commander was Wu Peifu. However, Shi Yousan did not stay in the Beiyang Army, and he had no intersection with Wu Peifu.
Because, after the army entered the pass, due to the mutiny of the third town artillery at Niangziguan, the entire standard was abolished, and Shi Yousan also left the army and went into exile in Beijing.
In May 1912, the Right Road Reserve Army was recruited in Beijing, and Shi Yousan took the opportunity to enter the army again as a soldier, and the unit that Shi Yousan joined was the former battalion of the Reserve Army, and the commander of the former battalion at that time was Feng Yuxiang. This was also the first time that Shi Yousan had met Feng Yuxiang.
After joining Feng Yuxiang's command, because Shi Yousan was short in stature, he was not enough to be a combat soldier, so he was made a groom.
However, Shi Yousan is a very scheming person, and he seizes every opportunity to try to impress Feng Yuxiang. Once, when Feng Yuxiang and his troops were passing through Jianmen Pass while marching in Sichuan, they saw many valuable stone tablets and wanted to take them off to see.
However, the military is full of old and rough, and very few can expand the stone monument. At this time, Shi Yousan stood up and spent a whole day to completely expand the stone stele. Shi Yousan's efforts were not in vain, and the stone inscription he carefully expanded won the appreciation of Feng Yuxiang, and as a result, Shi Yousan was appreciated by Feng Yuxiang and promoted to a personal escort, and from then on, he embarked on the fast track of promotion.
In 1919, Shi Yousan became a model company commander of Feng Yuxiang's brigade, and soon became a battalion commander. Shi Yousan, who had served as a personal bodyguard for Feng Yuxiang, knew Feng Yuxiang's preferences well. Therefore, when serving as a battalion commander, Shi Yousan was extremely strict in the training of the army. If his subordinate soldiers were slightly unqualified, he reprimanded him severely and even scolded him.
However, Shi Yousan was not only cruel to his subordinates, he was also cruel enough to himself. After becoming a battalion commander, Shi Youshan still led by example, and he was proficient in infantry training projects, whether it was gymnastics, field action, steel frames and wooden horses.
Therefore, although Shi Yousan, who led by example, was extremely strict, his subordinates admired him very much, and the battalion led by Shi Yousan became a model unit and was repeatedly the focus of Feng Yuxiang's review. Shi Yousan, who performed well, was also increasingly used by Feng Yuxiang.
From then on, as a close confidant of Feng Yuxiang, Shi Yousan became one of Feng Yuxiang's thirteen Taibao. After becoming the main general of Feng Yuxiang, Shi Yousan's promotion path was smoother, and Shi Yousan, who had made many military achievements by virtue of his bravery in battle, successively served as regimental commander and brigade commander.
However, as his position was promoted, Shi Yousan's tyrannical and capricious nature was also exposed. In 1925, after being promoted to brigade commander of the 8th Mixed Brigade, Shi Yousan of the garrison in Baotou ran amok in the local area, and in just half a year, more than 500 people were innocently killed.
Moreover, Shi Yousan, who never trusted others, was extremely suspicious. There was not even much trust in the old subordinates who had followed him for many years. He not only closely monitored his subordinates, but even when he heard that his subordinates were likely to defect with their guns, they often carried out shootings without investigation and punishment, and maintained control of the troops in a terrorist way.
Even the old subordinates who had followed him for many years did not have much trust to speak of, and Shi Yousan's loyalty to Feng Yuxiang could be imagined.
Shi Yousan defected for the first time after the Battle of Nankou. In 1926, the warlords directly under the direct line did not admire the Warlord Zhang Zuolin of the Feng clan, and the Warlord Yan Xishan of Shanxi and other warlords gathered 500,000 troops and jointly launched an attack on Feng Yuxiang.
In the face of the warlord alliance, although Feng Yuxiang's Northwest Army fought bravely, it was far inferior in equipment, numbers and territory, so the Northwest Army gradually fell into a disadvantage.
Under such circumstances, Shi Yousan, who had been promoted to the commander of the Fifth Army of the Northwest Army, felt that the future was uncertain, so he secretly communicated with Shang Zhen, the commander-in-chief of the Jin Army sent by Yan Xishan, and by virtue of the friendship between teachers and students at that time, he privately agreed not to invade each other with the Jin Army.
Therefore, when the other armies of the Northwest Army suffered heavy losses, Shi Yousan's troops not only did not lose the slightest loss, but also took in a large number of routs along the way, and the army was greatly improved.
At the same time, after the defeat at the Battle of Nankou, Feng Yuxiang's army was defeated, and Shi Yousan believed that the future of the Northwest Army was uncertain, so after secret negotiations with Shang Zhen, he did not hesitate to betray Feng Yuxiang and defect to Yan Xishan. This is also the first defection of Shi Yousan.
However, as a typical miscellaneous army, Shi Yousan was very unpopular among the Jin Sui army, so the disgruntled Shi Yousan decided to seek other ways out.
In 1926, Feng Yuxiang returned from the Soviet Union, and after Wuyuan took part in the Northern Expedition, Feng Yuxiang decided to gather the old department, and he personally went to Baotou to visit Shi Yousan and persuaded him to return. Shi Yousan had this in mind, so he "expressed repentance, fell to his knees, and cried." Therefore, after Wuyuan took the oath, Shi Yousan once again defected to Yan Xishan and returned to Feng Yuxiang's command.
However, it is precisely because of the first betrayal that Feng Yuxiang no longer has all his trust in Shi Yousan, and Shi Yousan is also wary of Feng Yuxiang in addition to fear. Because Shi Yousan knew that the first betrayal had already left an indelible rift between him and the old governor Feng Yuxiang.
Therefore, Shi Yousan had always been extremely wary of Feng Yuxiang. During the Second Northern Expedition, Feng Yuxiang removed Shi Yousan's chief of staff and sent Li Bingxuan, a senior counselor at his headquarters, to take over. Shi Yousan, who was already suspicious of ghosts, therefore believed that Li Bingxuan was a supervisor sent by Feng Yuxiang, so he was even more dissatisfied with Feng Yuxiang.
In February 1928, for his outstanding performance in the Battle of Yutai, Shi Yousan was commended by the commander-in-chief Chiang Kai-shek and given a bounty of 70,000 yuan. However, at the same time, in order to win over Shi Yousan, Chiang Kai-shek also privately gave Shi Yousan 100,000 yuan.
After receiving Chiang Kai-shek's rewards and bonuses, Shi Yousan was flattered, and he did not tell Feng Yuxiang at the first time, but secretly sent the secretary general to Xuzhou to meet Chiang Kai-shek.
Shi Yousan's act of accepting Chiang Kai-shek's gifts and personally befriending Chiang Kai-shek was tantamount to betrayal during the warlord melee, and Shi Yousan also knew this. However, Shi Yousan did not feel the slightest guilt because of this, but suspected that Li Bingxuan knew about this matter, so he detained Li Bingxuan alive and buried him alive during the march.
In 1929, the Chiang Kai-shek War between the Gui clan and Chiang Kai-shek broke out, and Shi Yousan once again became the focus of Chiang Kai-shek's Jinyuan Offensive. At that time, Shi Yousan not only received 50,000 yuan of labor and military expenses donated by Chiang Kai-shek, but also accepted 500,000 yuan that Chiang Kai-shek secretly gave him personally. Shi Yousan, who had been repeatedly drawn in by Chiang Kai-shek and his power was also expanding, was increasingly ambitious.
In May 1929, during the Great War of Chiang Kai-shek between Feng Yuxiang and Chiang Kai-shek, Shi Yousan and Han Fuyu once again betrayed Feng Yuxiang and defected to Chiang Kai-shek. Moreover, after this betrayal, Shi Yousan also scolded Feng Yuxiang at a banquet and announced Feng Yuxiang's ten major crimes.
After defecting to Chiang Kai-shek, Shi Yousan was proud of the spring breeze, and in the autumn of 1929, Shi Yousan was even appointed as the chairman of Anhui Province, becoming a major warlord who divided a province. However, Chiang Kai-shek did not let Shi Yousan manage the Anhui territory as he wished, and instead, Chiang Kai-shek tried to dispatch three parts of Shi You's troops to the south to fight the Guangdong army.
Shi Yousan, who was already discriminated against in the Central Army, was suspicious of this, and he began to worry that Chiang Kai-shek would take the opportunity to eliminate himself. In the end, under the influence of Tang Shengzhi and Chen Jitang, Shi Yousan did not do anything, did not stop, once again turned against Chiang Kai-shek, turned to Tang Shengzhi, and even sent troops to bombard the city of Nanjing.
In 1930, the Central Plains War broke out, and in the face of a large-scale chaos on an unprecedented scale, Shi Yousan once again turned against Chiang Kai-shek and became the commander-in-chief of the Fourth Front Army on the side of Feng Yuxiang and Yan Xishan and the chairman of the Shandong Provincial Government.
However, in the anti-Chiang Kai-shek army, the capricious Shi Yousan was not welcomed, and the food and ammunition were often unable to be supplied, and under such circumstances, Shi Yousan, who had the intention of maintaining his strength, began to stand still and sit on the mountain and watch the tiger fight.
The Battle of the Central Plains ended with Chiang Kai-shek's victory, and Zhang Xueliang, a northeastern army sent in late in the war, became the biggest beneficiary, and north China became Zhang Xueliang's sphere of influence.
Therefore, Shi Yousan saw the wind and turned the rudder again and turned to Zhang Xueliang. At that time, only Shi You's three departments had a total of more than 64,000 people. However, under Zhang Xueliang's command, Shi Yousan was still not satisfied, and Shi Yousan suspected that Zhang Xueliang wanted to destroy himself.
Therefore, he once again defected to Zhang Xueliang, defected to Wang Jingwei, and accepted Wang Jingwei's appointment. However, Shi Yousan did not follow the orders of Wang Jingwei and others to fight Chiang Kai-shek in the south, but because he learned that Zhang Xueliang was ill and "died" in The Union Hospital, Shi Yousan, who thought that the opportunity had finally come, began to mobilize all his troops and try to capture Peiping.
Unexpectedly, Zhang Xueliang already knew of Shi Yousan's betrayal, and he planned to gather troops to invite Jun into the urn. In the end, the Northeast Army completely eliminated Shi Yousan in the Baoding area of Hebei Province, and in the end, after the fiasco, Shi Yousan was forced to lead the remnants of more than 7,000 people to defect to Han Fuyu.
Shi Yousan, who had lost his essence to Lao Ben in many iterations, was not willing to fail. In August 1931, Ishi Yukizo secretly went to Tianjin and colluded with the head of the Japanese secret service in China, Toihara, to try to make a comeback.
At that time, many of the bandits who had defected to the Japanese Kou as traitors were contacted by Shi Yousan. However, although Ishitobu worked the Japanese, he was extremely disappointed that he was not valued by the Japanese because he did not have an army.
Even when the traitors were not taken seriously, therefore, when shi Yousan, who was extremely disappointed, was co-opted by Song Zheyuan in 1935, he did not hesitate to turn against the Japanese again, defected to Song Zheyuan, and was appointed by Song Zheyuan as the commander of the security of northern Hebei. Also through this position, Shi Yousan once again had the strength of 4 regiments after gathering the bandits.

After the outbreak of the All-out War of Resistance, Shi Yousan's unit was organized into the 181st Division, and Shi Yousan became the commander of the division, and in the second year, Shi Yousan again gathered the defeated troops, and after the strength of the army was greatly increased, he was appointed by Chiang Kai-shek as the commander of the 69th Army, and the Gao Shuxun Department of the New Sixth Division was also placed under Shi Yousan's command at this time.
After the fall of North China, Shi Yousan was ordered to fight behind enemy lines. Behind the enemy lines, the isolated Shi Yousan began to walk close to the Eighth Route Army and repeatedly expressed unity and resistance. Because of his attitude, he was strongly supported by the Eighth Route Army, and Shi Yousan quickly expanded his troops and developed his troops to 12 regiments, while Chiang Kai-shek once again reorganized the 69th Army into the Tenth Army, and Shi Yousan became the commander of the corps.
However, with the expansion of strength, Shi Yousan soon once again exposed the true face of "having milk is a mother". Faced with the anti-communist upsurge set off by the Kuomintang, Shi Yousan quickly defected to the Eighth Route Army and became the vanguard of anti-communism.
Shi Yousan began to launch a large-scale attack on the Enemy Base Areas of the Eighth Route Army and killed a large number of revolutionary masses, and under such circumstances, the intolerable Eighth Route Army launched a counterattack and gave Shi Yousan a heavy blow.
In 1940, with the Japanese Kou sweeping around, the situation behind the enemy lines became more and more severe, and under this situation, Shi Yousan began to contact the Japanese Kou frequently, and it was obvious that Shi Yousan was ready to become a traitor again. At that time, the news of Shi Yousan's surrender to the enemy was almost public, and even Wei Lihuang, the commander of the First Theater at that time, heard the news and personally sent a telegram to persuade Shi Yousan not to be a traitor.
However, Ishi yuzo ignored this and became more and more closely associated with the Japanese, and he even began to declare that Japan had appointed him governor of Hebei Province and commander of the Security Army. However, Shi Yousan had no shame in being a traitor, and his subordinates did not want to leave a stink for ten thousand years.
In the end, when Shi Yousan surrendered to Japan and became more and more clear as a traitor, Gao Shuxun, commander of the New Eighth Army, who was unwilling to be a traitor, took advantage of Sun Liangcheng's peace talk and detained Shi Yousan and reported it to Wei Lihuang.
Wei Lihuang's reply was: Rectify the Fa on the spot. Therefore, on the night of Shi Yousan's detention, Gao Shuxun ordered his aide-de-camp to strangle Shi Yousan with a rope and bury him in the Yellow River. Shi Yousan, who had a capricious life and had milk as a mother, was killed.
