In Shangluo, there is a calligrapher who not only writes calligraphy, but also is proficient in carving, many plaques in Jinfengshan and Danjiang Park in Shangluo City are carved by him, and after the completion of the new campus of Shangluo Middle School, he also participated in the carving of the school name. His name was Zhang Junfeng, a native of Shangzhou who was once called "an artist who opened his bow left and right" by Jia Pingwa, chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Writers Association.
From an early age, he was obsessed with calligraphy without a teacher

Zhang Junfeng, zi chunfeng, shangshan cultivator, born in November 1971 in Banqiao Town, Shangzhou District, Shangluo City, Shaanxi Province, graduated from the China University of Calligraphy and Painting correspondence major in practical art design and calligraphy, is now a member of the Shaanxi Provincial Book Society, a member of the Shaanxi Province Yu right calligraphy society, Shang Luo Yu right book association director, Shangluo City Book Negotiation Luo City Peasant Writers Association Shangluo City Sculptors Association member.
In early January 2022, a reporter from Huashang Daily came to Zhang Junfeng's home and interviewed him. His room was small, but it was filled with calligraphy and plaques of all sizes. Zhang Junfeng said that his proudest carving works are the "Shaanxi Shangzhou Danqu Grand Stage" written by Chen Yan himself, the wood carving works such as "ExtremeLy Eye Chu Tian" and "Yi Ke Jiu Body" written by Jia Pingwa himself, as well as stone carving works such as "Shaanxi Shangluo Middle School" and "Shangluo Lugang Industrial Group Co., Ltd."
Zhang Junfeng told reporters that he had loved the art of calligraphy and painting since he was a child, but with the family conditions of his family at that time, he could not afford to ask Mr. to teach calligraphy. Therefore, he copied the words on the books by himself, and learned to paint according to the books that were particularly popular at that time... When he was 12 years old, he could already write couplets, and he began to sell couplets in the market, becoming a well-known little book boy in the eight townships.
As he grew older, Zhang Junfeng came into contact with calligraphy and calligraphy posters, and since then, he has begun to grope for copying them on his own, successively copying various Fa-tisses based on yan body, and after more than thirty years of diligent study and hard work, he has formed his own artistic face. Zhang Junfeng has a solid calligraphy "Tong Zi Gong", good at doing kai, never sloppy in one stroke and one painting, rigorous in structure, flexible in layout, "kai" and not rigid, "line" without vain. In particular, he copied the Shu Tong body, the strokes walked skillfully and freely, and the font was gentle and comfortable, which was deeply loved by everyone.

He would make a special trip to Guangdong to sell couplets
The day the reporter met Zhang Junfeng, he was packing his bags at home, Zhang Junfeng said, wait until the evening, after the nucleic acid test results come out, he will go to Shilong Town, Dongguan, Guangdong Province, to sell couplets, he will go there at the end of each year to set up stalls to do business, this year is already the 21st year, and he will return to Shangluo after the end of the year.
Zhang Junfeng said that at first he went to Dongguan to work, because his family owed 60,000 yuan for building a new house, in order to pay off the debt as soon as possible, he entered the Dongguan Shijie Picture Frame Factory to work, and in his spare time, he went to the vegetable market and other popular places to sell words, and every time he and his wife earned enough a thousand yuan, they would remit the money back to their hometown in Shaanxi.
Later, once, someone asked Zhang Junfeng to buy ten characters, and he was in a hurry. In desperation, he took an hour and a half off from the factory and wrote out these ten characters on the floor of the dormitory. In just a few moments, he earned more than 600 yuan, which is higher than a month's salary. Tasting the sweetness, he had the idea of selling couplets.
In the beginning, Zhang Junfeng wrote couplets in Shijie for five years, and in 2005, he was inspired to go to Shilong Town to cooperate with a seal seller to set up a couplet stall. His brush writing immediately conquered the surrounding neighbors, and more and more people looked for him to write. Later, even if he changed his new job and left Dongguan, at the end of November of the lunar calendar, no matter how busy he was, Zhang Junfeng would return to Shilong Town, Dongguan, and write couplets for more than 40 days. In the years when Zhang Junfeng wrote couplets in Shilong Town, the family accompanied him to sell couplets on the streets of Shilong, and Zhang Junfeng not only made money, but also learned a good craft.
Zhang Junfeng said that he bought couplets in Shilong Town, there are a lot of familiar customers, every year there are always a group of neighbors looking forward to him to go to Shilong stalls, staying there for so many years, he has feelings for that place, and in the future, he will move to Shilong Town every year to sell couplets, on the one hand, he can make a small profit, on the other hand, he also wants to meet with old friends in the past.

In 2004, when Shijie Town was repairing the Yuan Chonghuan Memorial Hall, he invited a wood carver named Yuan Xiaolei from Anhui Province. Zhang Junfeng fell in love with this art after seeing the exquisite wood carving works, so he thought of worshiping this wood carving master as a teacher, and after many visits, the old man finally agreed to accept him as an apprentice.
After paying homage to the master, the master gave Zhang Junfeng 38 knives, because he originally had a deep foundation in calligraphy, after learning with the master for half a year, he learned the wood carving craft to be pure and pure, not only mastered the knife method of yin carving and yang carving, but also combined with calligraphy, he figured out the woodcut technique of the plaque, and even the master directly praised him for being blue and better than blue.
After returning to his hometown from Shilong's part-time job, Zhang Junfeng worshiped Guo Shushou as a teacher, mainly learning woodcuts... In this way, he continued to improve in calligraphy and wood carving, and his fame grew. Later, recommended by the Shangluo Cultural Center, he went to Shaanxi Normal University to study the eleventh traditional carving inheritance class, wood carving, ivory carving, jade carving, stone carving, and various carving skills classes, which further improved Zhang Junfeng's carving skills.
In 2014, Zhang Junfeng met Jia Pingwo under the recommendation of Liu Shaohong, editor-in-chief of Shangluo Daily, and Sun Jianxi, author of Jia Pingwa Biography. After seeing Zhang Junfeng's calligraphy and painting works, Jia Pingwo wrote down the brush characters of "Art Movement Resident" and "Art Can Be Long-lived" to Zhang Junfeng, encouraging him to go farther and farther on the road of calligraphy and painting.
Mr. Jia Pingwa called Zhang Junfeng "an artist who opened his bow left and right" because he not only wrote well, but also excelled in woodcuts, and was the third generation of woodcuts in Shangzhou. Talking about Zhang Junfeng's calligraphy, Jia Pingwa said that there is no problem with his various body skills, and his traditional skills are profound, but it is necessary to write strong and thick, a little less feminine and sweet, and more inscriptions, so that he will become a family and form his own face.

Although there is already machine engraving, but Zhang Junfeng has always insisted on hand carving, he believes that although machine engraving saves time and effort, it only turns one plane into two planes, and hand engraving can show the power of calligrapher writing, show the aura, and can carve out the expressiveness of the author, especially the expression of "line" and "righteousness" continuous flying white.
Zhang Junfeng carved the plaque in strict accordance with the process, trimming the wooden board, putting on the putty, sanding, insect prevention, and everything was satisfied before the carving began. When he picks up the carving knife, the strength is grasped freely, the convex and concave treatment is at will, the knife is decisive and fast, combined with his calligraphy skills, he can highlight the author's artistic soul even more.
Plaques such as "Qixiu Pavilion", "Sun and Moon Tonghui", "Yunheng Qinling", "Tengjiao Qifeng", and "Jimu Chutian" at the top of Jinfeng Mountain in Shangluo City, as well as plaques such as "Liyuan Pavilion" in Danjiang Park in Shangluo City, were all carved by Zhang Junfeng. In addition, he also carved stone carvings such as "Shaanxi Shangluo Middle School" and "Shangluo Lugang Industrial Group Co., Ltd." on the early journey of Shangshan in Xibei Street, Shangluo City.
Wang Huangwu, a former professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, said: "Jun Feng, a young man, is a young man I admire the most in Shangluo, he can not only paint, but also his calligraphy is also very good, he is mainly engaged in carving, the biggest influence is that the school plaque of Shangluo Middle School (new campus) in Shaanxi Province was written by me, carved by him, Chinese min University school plaque (carving) and him, on some scenic spots on Jinfeng Mountain, almost all the plaques were carved by him. The young man is not only good in art, but also in terms of moral character, and in Shangluo, he is also the one I admire the most. ”

Zhang Junfeng loves calligraphy and woodcuts, and silently pays and persistently pursues it. His lover Han Huixia said that as long as Jun Feng identified things, ten cows could not turn back, he was not afraid of hardships, each time it was written for several hours, and when the plaque was carved, it was a whole day, I supported him to do his favorite work, and I hoped that he could go farther and farther on this road.

He dreamed of one day turning the courtyard of his hometown into a sculpture art museum, and he wanted to carve out the famous works of calligraphy of all the dynasties, from kangxi, Ouyang Yuan, Yu Shinan, Chu Suiliang, Qi Gong, and shangluo calligraphy celebrities.
