Broken peace ~ The correct way to deal with skin injuries 【Healthy and happy New Year】

After the eighth year, in a strong festive atmosphere, everyone who is busy celebrating the festival should always guard against accidents. If you accidentally scratch the skin, be sure to handle it correctly.

How to treat skin scratches

In daily life, skin scratches are more common. For minor epidermal scratches, disinfection with iodophors at home can be used, and the wound can heal after 2 to 3 days. However, wounds that hurt the deep tissues below the dermis should seek medical help.

1. Look: First observe the injury, including the depth of the wound, whether there is a foreign body, what the "perpetrator" is, whether there is active bleeding, etc.

2. Flush: Rinse the wound with pure water at room temperature (mineral water is also OK) and flush out the pollutants attached to the wound surface to reduce the degree of wound pollution. The wound can then be simply disinfected with iodophors.

3. Pack: Cover the wound with sterile gauze. If there is significant bleeding, appropriate compression can be given, the pressure is moderate, and it is advisable that the wound is no longer bleeding. Do not open it repeatedly after bandaging to avoid increasing the probability of pain and wound infection.

4. Doctor: After the above simple treatment of the wound, go to your nearby hospital or community hospital as soon as possible for professional treatment by the doctor. Pay attention to the hospital within 6 to 8 hours after the injury.

Does the wound leave a scar after suture?

Many people "smell the color of the needle" when they go to the doctor. Think that if you stitch up, you will leave scars.

In fact, this is a misunderstanding. All wounds that meet the conditions of a first-stage suture are sutured much smaller than those without suturing. Therefore, the wound can be sutured if it can be sutured.

Many people think that "beauty threads do not leave scars". This is also a misunderstanding. Now the suture classification used in hospitals, there is no model called "beauty suture". The reason why it is called "beauty sutures" is because when the sutures are used by skilled doctors, the wounds that are stitched are neat, beautiful, and have small scars. It is the doctors who play a key role, especially the professionally trained plastic surgeons with trauma repair experience, not the wire.

Whether the wound is scarred after suturing is largely related to the technique of suturing, local wound tension, whether there are infectious factors and personal constitution.

In addition, there are two types of sutures currently in use: absorbable sutures and non-absorbable sutures.

The absorbable suture does not need to be removed, it is buried in the subcutaneous tissue, let it absorb slowly.

Non-absorbable sutures need to be removed, and plastic surgeons prefer to use very thin sutures to make the wound more beautiful. But even if the stitch is thinner than the hair, it still needs to be removed.

Skin adhesives can bond wounds without the need for sutures and postoperative thread removal. Suitable for clean, tension-free wounds.

When can scar surgery be done

Early scarring (6 to 8 weeks): Early application of silicone gel products and short pulse dye lasers can block fibroblast proliferation and vascular proliferation of scar tissue and intervene in scar proliferation.

Scar stabilization period (6 months to 1 year): topical glucocorticoid blockade, superficial X-ray irradiation, and non-surgical treatment such as fractional laser can be selected. When scars affect body function, appearance, or even have the potential to become cancerous, they require surgical repair.
