Wang Xianju was probably born in 1921, and his hometown is in the countryside of Hezedan County, Shandong. In July 1937, the Japanese attacked Shandong and wreaked havoc throughout Shandong. The atrocities of the Japanese army aroused the anger of the hot-blooded young Wang Xianju, who was in difficulty in his hometown and had an unshirkable obligation to take revenge. Wang Xianju found the Shandong underground party and, through the underground party organization, joined the anti-Japanese guerrilla group in southwest Lu. The anti-Japanese guerrillas in southwest Lu were later incorporated by the Yellow River Detachment of the Eighth Route Army, and Wang Xianju was also reorganized and became an ordinary soldier in the 1st Regiment, 2 Battalions, 6 companies, and 2 Platoons. The life of the army made Wang Xianju feel both fulfilling and happy, and when there was usually no need for combat and training tasks, he would follow the "instructors" who had read books for several years and some cultures to learn all kinds of knowledge, such as politics, military, culture, economy, the world, and so on. Day after day, Wang Xianju can also be regarded as a half-cultural person. In the anti-Japanese war, Wang Xianju showed extraordinary bravery, holding a worn-out "old sleeve" in many anti-sweeping battles .

In August 1940, the Hundred Regiments War broke out, and until the beginning of December, the Eighth Route Army had been fighting the Japanese army in North China. In order to smash the enemy's heavy encirclement plan, Wang Xianju's company was tasked with covering the breakthrough and evacuation of the large troops. The 120th man conducted a counterattack on the Japanese army in Huangzhuang, Jining, Shandong. Unexpectedly, this was followed by the Japanese army to come to a round of dumplings.
During the fierce battle, Wang Xianju was not hit by Japanese bullets, but was hit by fragments of shells fired by the Japanese army, and instantly fell into a state of blood. Wang Xianju, who was seriously injured, still kept calm, untied his leggings, bandaged the wounds on his body, and could play a little hemostasis. Finally, comrades in arms of the brothers' troops arrived and successfully rescued them, and Wang Xianju was resettled to zhou jifang's home in Wednesday Guanmiao Village, 25 kilometers south of Jinxiang County.
