Why did Shun cede the chief's position to Yu, but why did he die two thousand miles away in Hunan? Archaeology finds the truth

After the Yellow Emperor,

Three outstanding tribal leaders appeared in the Yellow River Valley, namely Yao, Shun, and Yu.

Yao, also known as Tao Tang, originated in Fenhe, Shanxi, and now Linfen City still has Yao Temple and Yao Ling, after he became the tribal leader, his life is still very simple, and ordinary tribal people are no different, so they have been loved by the masses.

Shun, also known as Yu Shun, was the eighth grandson of the Yellow Emperor of Xuanyuan, and it is said that filial piety and friendship, good at making pottery, after the ascension to the throne, selected the best and the best, created a situation of political communication and people, and for a time spread into a good story.

Why did Shun cede the chief's position to Yu, but why did he die two thousand miles away in Hunan? Archaeology finds the truth

Yu, also known as xia houshi, was the founding monarch of the Xia Dynasty, when the Yellow River Basin often had heavy water, Yu led the people to control the flood, the people who were devastated by the river, under the command of Dayu, effectively solved the flooding of the river, and then won the support of the people.

The three leaders of their descendants have a considerable reputation, and the last thing that posterity talks about is the peaceful transfer of the position of the leader between the three of them, which is called "Zen Rang" in later generations.

In Confucian thought, the Zen system was highly respected, and even in the untimely Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, they were still doing the blowing hand for Zen Rang, but unfortunately, no one listened to him by the monarchs of the princely states at that time.

In our impression, the Zen system is indeed much better than the hereditary system under the feudal society, at least Zen let pays attention to the ability to live in it, unlike in the feudal society, some emperors' sons can even be crowned the throne of the emperor even if they are born as a doll, such an emperor can not even take care of his own life, and how to govern the country?

Why did Shun cede the chief's position to Yu, but why did he die two thousand miles away in Hunan? Archaeology finds the truth

Of course, this is not the focus of our discussion this time, the focus is on whether the Zen concession between Yao Shunyu is really as harmonious as the Confucian high-profile praise.

Yao ceded the chief's throne to Shun, and Shun passed it on to Dayu, which was worthy of praise, but why would Shun, who did not have the position of chief, die in Hunan, two thousand miles away?

Archaeology has found the truth, and this has also allowed Yao Shunyu to have a new interpretation of zen ranging, let's look at it together.

It has the ruins of the "Eight Most Numerous" Pottery Temple

Located in the south of Taosi Village in Xiangfen County, Shanxi Province, the tao temple site is about 2 kilometers long from east to west, about 1,500 meters long from north to south, with a total area of 2.8 million square meters, which is the largest of the Longshan cultural sites in the Central Plains in terms of its scale.

The site is mainly of the Longshan culture pottery temple type, which also contains the second phase of the Temple Bottom Gully culture and a small number of remnants of the Warring States, Han Dynasty, Jin Dynasty and Yuan Dynasty, which is one of the sources of Chinese civilization.

The ruins of the Tao Temple are about 2300 BC to 1900 BC, more than 4000 years ago, and due to the grand scale, the excavation history is also quite long.

Since 1975, the ruins of Tao Temple have been excavated, and in the process of excavation, more than 1,000 ordinary tombs and 9 tombs of great nobles have been unearthed, and various cultural relics have been unearthed, shocking people at home and abroad.

The most recent excavation was in 2017, which expanded the scale of the excavation and basically determined that there was a miyagi in the ruins of Tao Temple.

According to archaeologists, according to the cultural relics unearthed therein, the tao temple site corresponds to the age of Yao Shunyu's life, and the palace city in it should also be the place where Yao Shunyu lived.

In addition, the tao temple site also created eight of the earliest writings, the oldest musical instruments, the earliest building materials, the largest tomb, the largest city site, the earliest astronomical observation system, the oldest observatory, the earliest dragon totem.

With the excavation of the Tao Temple site, many of the established historical facts that were originally in history have been marked with question marks

, of course, also includes Zen concessions between Yao Shunyu.

The truth under archaeology

According to the history books, Shun ceded the position of chief to Dayu, and since it was so harmonious, Dayu should naturally be responsible for his life after his abdication, after all, he had to subdue people with virtue.

But

The strange thing is that after Shun's abdication, he did not enjoy his old age in Miyagi, but chose to go all the way south, and the reason given in the history books was to tour the south.

However, at that time, in addition to the Yellow River Valley, the south was quite desolate, and it could even be said that it was inaccessible, so what was the purpose of Shunnan's tour?

Besides, the position of tribal leader was given up, if it was really a tribal affair, it should also be Dayu who toured the south, how could it be Shun's turn to abdicate?

What is even more incomprehensible is that

During his southern tour, Shun died in Cangwu County, which is more than 2,000 miles away from the ruins of the ancient city of Taosi where Shun lived, and belongs to the current Hunan Province.

There are many incredible things about Shun's life, and these incredible points have been found in the ruins of the Tao Temple.

Archaeology shows that the noble tombs in the Tao Temple site were excavated many times in the late period, and the human bones were spilled on the ground, which may be explained by the actions of later tomb robbers, but there are many discoveries that cannot be explained by this statement.

Why did Shun cede the chief's position to Yu, but why did he die two thousand miles away in Hunan? Archaeology finds the truth

The palaces and astronomical buildings in the ruins have been deliberately damaged, and there have been large-scale massacres within the walls of Miyagi Castle, most notably, experts have concluded that there were two large-scale riots at tao temple

The tombs and palace buildings that were destroyed during the riots were all royal tombs, so experts concluded that the riots occurred within Miyagi Castle, not by invasions by foreign tribes.

That is to say,

It is likely that the Zen concession between Yao Shunyu was not passed on peacefully, but was full of violent seizures of power.

And this point confirms some records in ancient books.

The truth in the history books

For a long time, no one would have doubted Yao Shunyu's Zen concessions, but after the excavation of the Bamboo Book Chronicle, people had to doubt the records of the past.

The Bamboo Book Chronicle is the only surviving chronicle of the unQin fire in ancient China, written by the Historian of the Jin Dynasty and the Historian of the State of Wei during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, which records Yao Shunyu's Zen Concessions as follows:

Xi Yao was imprisoned by Shun, Shun imprisoned yao in Pingyang and took the throne, Shun put Yao in Pingyang, Shun imprisoned Yao, and Fu Yan Saidan Zhu did not meet his father.

That means

Yao had originally planned to pass on his son Danzhu, and the reason why Shun was able to take the position of tribal leader was not that Yao gave it to him, but that he snatched it with strong strength.

Then Shun also had a reasonable explanation for his southern tour in his later years, that is, he did not voluntarily go to the southern tour at all, but was exiled to the deserted south by Dayu, and eventually lost his life in Hunan.

Han Feizi has a more straightforward description of the Zen concession between Yao Shunyu:

Shun forced Yao, Yu forced Shun, Tang Fangjie, and King Wu cut down the king; these four kings, the people who killed their kings also.

Why did Shun cede the chief's position to Yu, but why did he die two thousand miles away in Hunan? Archaeology finds the truth

When we combine the two large-scale riots in Miyagi Castle, the site of the Tao Temple, and these historical records that were not originally recognized, I think we are very close to the historical truth of Yao Shun Yu Chan Rang.

The real history may not have been a beautiful talk of Yao Shun Yu Zen Rang, but full of bloody violent seizures of power, and the Zen concession between them was only deliberately fabricated by The Confucians in order to promote their own ideas

After all, in the ancient times, the change of the position of the chief, only Yao Shunyu and the three people were not related by blood.

Do you agree with that?
