In 2013, the pig pancreas making technology of Xinzhai Town, Laoting County was selected into the fifth batch of provincial intangible cultural heritage list in Hebei Province.
The traditional production technique of "Hongji pig pancreas" originated in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, Hong Shucai and his wife are the sixth generation of inheritors of "Hongji pig pancreas", because the pig pancreas produced by it has strong decontamination power without hurting the hands, and can effectively protect and treat frostbite, cracks, swelling and pain caused by people's outdoor labor, which is deeply loved by the masses.
