According to the "China Statistical Yearbook 2021" and the seventh national census data, the deposit data of households in 27 provincial capitals was established, and it was found that the per capita deposits of hangzhou, Shenyang, Guangzhou, Taiyuan and Nanjing exceeded 100,000 yuan, of which Hangzhou reached 119,000 yuan.
Urumqi, Lanzhou, Xi'an, Fuzhou and Wuhan were also shortlisted in the TOP10, of which Wuhan had 83,000 yuan per capita.
Of all 27 provincial capitals, Nanjing has at least 51,000 yuan and is the only one with less than 60,000 yuan.
In terms of geographical distribution, the top five are 2 in the north and 3 in the south, and the top 10 are 5 in the north and south, while in all 27 grand cities, fewer are more from the south.
Overall, per capita savings in some southern capitals are low.
In addition to the impact of population age structure, industrial structure, investment concept, housing prices, consumption habits and other aspects, Niu Fengrui, a researcher at the Urban Development and Environment Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, pointed out that there are relatively few investment channels for residents in many cities in the north, which is also a key factor. In contrast, the commercial culture and investment atmosphere of the southern cities are strong, and there are many investment channels for residents.
Therefore, there is no necessary correlation between the amount of deposits and the level of per capita disposable income.
