In the entire Battle of Nomonkan in June 1939, only 30,000 Japanese troops participated in the battle, and it was a Japanese B division, equivalent to a second-class reserve force. Such Japanese weapons are backward and under-equipped. The Soviets, on the other hand, had 50,000 heavy troops led by Zhukov and were equipped with a large number of heavy weapons such as artillery, aircraft and tanks.
The final result of the battle was unexpected, the Soviet Losses were even higher than the Japanese, and from the Soviet archives, the Soviet army suffered a total of 25,000 casualties in the Battle of Nomonkan, not the 6,000 that the Soviet Union had advertised that year, of which 9,700 were killed and 15,000 were wounded. The Japanese 23rd Division suffered only 19,000 casualties, 7,600 killed and 12,000 wounded, with far fewer losses than the Soviets.
