Hong Kong, 13 Jan (Xinhua) -- The Police Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government announced on 13 January that the Hong Kong Police Force has decided to fully switch to Chinese-style foot exercises from 1 July this year. In addition to the ceremonies and closing ceremonies, personnel at all levels are also required to observe Chinese walking rituals such as salutes on a daily basis.

According to reports, the major discipline forces in Hong Kong have gradually introduced Chinese-style foot exercises from the beginning of 2021. On 30 December 2021, the Hong Kong Police College launched the Chinese Walking E-Learning Course to introduce officers to the introduction and application of Chinese walking gymnastics, the main differences from British walking gymnastics, and the relevant basic knowledge and skills. There is a quiz at the end of the course, and those who complete the quiz will receive a certificate.
The Police said that the College will launch chinese walking drill training day teaching materials in the second quarter of this year, and dispatch infantry instructors to assist frontline personnel in learning the basic movements and passwords of Chinese walking exercises on the training days of various units, and will hold flag raising and flag lowering workshops for frontline units as needed.
