Shanghai Auchan supermarket was fined 50,000 for selling expired chocolates! He has been fined several times for food problems

On January 13, Nandu reporter learned from the Shanghai Municipal Market Supervision and Administration Bureau that recently, Shanghai Auchan Supermarket Co., Ltd. was fined 50,000 yuan by the Shanghai Yangpu District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau for producing and operating food and food additives that marked false production dates, shelf life or food additives that exceeded the shelf life, and a certain Snickers chocolate on its shelves had passed the shelf life, violating the food safety law, and was fined 50,000 yuan by the Shanghai Yangpu District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau and confiscated the illegal gains.

According to the administrative penalty letter, on August 6, 2021, the law enforcement officers of the Yangpu District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau found that 25 pieces of "Snickers Cool Coconut Flavored Sandwich White Chocolate 40 grams" were on the shelves of Shanghai Auchan Supermarket Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shanghai Auchan Supermarket"), with a production date of September 29, 2020, a shelf life of 42 weeks, and the shelf life of the food until July 20, 2021 had passed the shelf life. The purchase price of the products involved in the case in Shanghai Auchan Supermarket was 3.32 yuan per article, the price was 4.5 yuan per article, the value of the goods was 117 yuan, and the illegal income was 4.5 yuan.

In the end, the Yangpu District Market Supervision and Administration Bureau ordered Auchan Supermarket to correct the illegal behavior, confiscate 25 pieces of chocolate that had passed the shelf life, as well as 4.50 yuan of illegal gains, and fined 50,000 yuan.

Nandu reporter noted that this is not the first time that Shanghai Auchan Supermarket has been fined for selling expired food. According to the National Enterprise Credit Information Publicity System, from June 2017 to December 2021, the above-mentioned companies had a total of 15 administrative penalty information, and the reasons for punishment were labeling false production dates, shelf life, or food additives that exceeded the shelf life for production and operation, and producing and selling unqualified products passing off as qualified products.

It is reported that Shanghai Auchan Supermarket Co., Ltd. was established in April 1997, is a limited liability company (Sino-foreign cooperation), the registered capital of 18 million US dollars, the scope of business for commodity retail and wholesale, department stores, clothing and so on.
