Supermarkets suspected of selling expired food were investigated

After receiving the complaint, law enforcement officers immediately took action and conducted a surprise inspection of the supermarket. During the inspection, law enforcement officers found two boxes of tea leaves in the tea sales area of the supermarket that had exceeded their shelf life and were still being sold together with qualified products, and law enforcement officers immediately took compulsory measures to seize the two boxes of tea found at the scene. The supermarket's behavior is suspected of violating the provisions of Item 10 of Article 34 of the Food Safety Law of the People's Republic of China, which prohibits the production and operation of the following foods, food additives, and food-related products: (10) Foods and food additives marked with false production dates, shelf life, or food additives that have exceeded the shelf life, and the Artesian Well District Market Supervision Bureau has filed a case against them.

In the next step, the Dongxingsi Street Market Supervision Institute will continue to combine the "Spring Thunder Action 2022" food safety law enforcement action, smooth the complaint and reporting channels, strictly investigate and deal with food safety violations, effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, and ensure that the people have a stable and peaceful Spring Festival.
