If you open the resumes of Chinese athletes preparing for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, you will find that some of them have not been practicing winter sports, and even some of them have not been professional athletes before; athletes are not only from traditional ice and snow provinces, but from all over the world to form a big family.

The background and source of ice and snow athletes are multi-dimensional, which has created a historic breakthrough in the field of ice and snow sports in China.

In 2015, when the right to host the 2022 Winter Olympics was obtained, about 1/3 of the 109 sub-events to be held at the Beijing Winter Olympics were almost never carried out in China.

Preparing for war for several years is a process of emancipating the mind, expanding the selection of talents, and making up for the shortcomings of ice and snow sports. As of October 2021, China has achieved the beijing Winter Olympics 109 projects of full project development, project team building, full project training, and created good results in a number of past blank areas.

A blank piece of paper fills the twist. China's sports people have reformively carried out cross-border cross-border material selection, opening the door to a new professional world for athletes in traditional sports, allowing them to have a broader vision and opportunities, and opening up a bigger stage for young sports enthusiasts who have not had access to the Olympic Games before.

A group of young sports people "stride" into the entrance, making ice and snow sports benefit a wider range of people.

Insight into the national conditions of sports, scientific decision-making of the whole project to participate

"The host city of the 2022 Winter Olympics, Beijing!" On July 31, 2015, a proclamation was issued in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, marking Beijing's first "double Olympic city" to host the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.

China declares to the world that the holding of the 2022 Winter Olympics in China will help promote exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese civilization and civilizations of all countries in the world, and drive more than 1.3 billion people in China to care, love and participate in ice and snow sports. To give Chinese people another opportunity to contribute to the development of the Olympic movement and the spread of the Olympic spirit.

Sports carry the dream of a strong country and a rejuvenated nation. In 2018, the State General Administration of Sport promised to strive to achieve "all-project participation" at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and show the style of Chinese athletes to the world.

The reality at that time was that the history of the Winter Olympics was nearly a hundred years old, and China's ice and snow projects were facing the national conditions of a weak foundation, a weak foundation, and a small talent reserve.

Since its first participation in the Winter Olympics in 1980, the largest number of gold medals won in China is the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics (2 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze) and the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics (5 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze), ranking 14th and 7th in the medal table respectively.

At the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, the Chinese delegation sent 82 athletes to participate in 5 major events, 12 sub-events and 55 minor events, with the largest number of participants and participating events in the past, but the participation rate of the project was still only 54%, and nearly 1/2 of the small events were not qualified.

There are still a series of problems in China's realization of the whole project: the lack of accumulation, training means and guarantee methods of ice and snow talents, the construction of training facilities is not complete, and the gap between science and technology and the international leading level is large...

Experts involved in proposing this goal recall that despite many visible shortcomings, the participation in the whole project was not a fantasy, but a scientific decision based on the foundation of our country's sports.

From the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics to the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, the number of small events participated by the Chinese delegation was 38, 48, 49, 49 and 53, showing a continuous upward trend, snowmobiles, steel frame snowmobiles, women's ski jumping and other sports, Chinese athletes have entered the Winter Olympics for the first time in Pyeongchang, and the development momentum is full of momentum.

The improvement of China's economic level and the increasing strength of science and technology have also provided a foundation for the participation of all projects in the Winter Olympic Games.

Look for world experience and laws, emancipate the mind and select materials across borders

In the face of the preparation cycle for the Tokyo Olympic Games and the Beijing Winter Olympics, which are only a few short years, sportsmen must innovate on the basis of consolidating and carrying forward the fine sports traditions, especially emancipating their minds, looking at the world, and finding a new way to prepare for the Olympic Games by selecting, using, and retaining talents.

Through many research and demonstrations by top sports experts at home and abroad, the idea of selecting talents with the characteristics of "cross" has gradually become clear.

In the development of sports competition at home and abroad, cross-border cross-discipline is a scientific norm, and there are many successful cases.

Canadian athlete Clara Hughes won two bronze medals in cycling at the Atlanta Olympics, and at the age of 34, she won the speed skating 5,000m championship and silver medal in the team pursuit at the Turin Winter Olympics; Laurene Williams was an American track and field athlete who won the silver medal in the women's doubles luge event at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi...

In the researchers' view, some winter and summer projects have commonalities, and mastering the correlation can allow athletes to navigate the transition of different sports. If that path works, talent can be selected for winter projects from some mature summer programs.

The famous F1 driver and German Formula One driver Michael Schumacher is a lover of multi-sport. He not only loves projects other than racing, but also a multi-dimensional training. He exercises his reflexes through extreme skiing and soccer, and uses his bike to train his strength, endurance and coordination.

In addition, German table tennis star Tim Bohr was a football player as a teenager; LeBron James, an American professional basketball player with the NBA Los Angeles Lakers, had a football experience, which greatly helped his ability to compete in the same field after the start of his basketball career...

These studies show that cross-discipline training can support athletes in terms of physical fitness, skills, and concentration from multiple dimensions.

Find the law of scientific training, and the confidence of the whole project to participate in the whole project comes from this - while carrying forward the accumulation of traditional advantageous projects, excavating the commonality of the project, and selectively migrating the sports quality cultivated by athletes before crossing the discipline to the winter project.

In addition, the preparation for the Summer Olympic Games will be used to drive the preparation for the Winter Olympic Games, minimize the conflict between the preparation of the Summer and Winter Olympics, and lay the foundation for the infrastructure construction of the Winter and Summer Olympics and the real shortening of the preparation period.

Feel the stones to cross the river, gather the world's talents

In the process of preparing for the Olympic Games in recent years, the innovative ideas of cross-border cross-sports talent reserve and preparation training have gradually taken shape in the field of sports.

Cross-border cross-project is a systematic project, everything is to feel the stones to cross the river.

So, how to take the first step in choosing a talent?

Sports decision-makers first focus on China's own "talent pool", in the skill project, china has a sufficient talent reserve, if they directly cross the project to the winter project that requires aerial skills, it will greatly shorten the training cycle.

The preparation for the Olympic Games has thus established a set of scientific and perfect cross-border cross-border project systems, breaking the solidified idea that athletes, coaches and even managers can only do one project in a lifetime.

It is thanks to this system that Song Qiwu, who was originally "afraid of heights", contacted ski jumping from athletics, and the 20-year-old was about to represent the Chinese ski jumping team in the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Gather the world's talents and use them. Cross-border cross-border work is open to the whole society to select talents, step out of the sports world, and be carried out among a wide range of people, bringing together cultural and sports, education, and Chinese people at home and abroad.

In the spring of 2018, when the staff first came to Henan Martial Arts School to select talents, the children's eyes were full of expectations. This is a previously inaccessible way out. Children from martial arts and acrobatic schools have the possibility of participating in the world's most influential sports event because of cross-border cross-border competitions.

Prior to this, the selection of talents for China's winter Olympic projects was mainly limited to the northern provinces, which was known as "ice and snow sports do not go out of Shanhaiguan".

If it can be promoted in a wider range of places, it will drive 200 million or 300 million people to participate in ice and snow sports. In fact, the Olympic movement is about promoting mass sports. China also looks forward to the role of lighting the torch of ice and snow sports by hosting a Winter Olympics.

Opening up the geographical boundary of the Yangtze River and the Yellow River, the sports system issued a "recruitment order" for the whole country, and the provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) responded positively, including many southern provinces that have "no connection" with ice and snow all year round, and there are also western regions where competitive sports are underdeveloped.

In the 2020-2021 National Cross-Country Skiing Championships and Championships, nearly 500 athletes and referees from the cross-country skiing national training team and relevant provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) participated, forming a national situation of geographical coverage, while the total number of participants in this event in the past was less than 23.

Tursongjiang Burlik, a Kazakh boy who won the silver medal in this race, was an amateur cyclist who entered the national team through cross-border cross-border selection in the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and began his career in ice and snow sports. This selection has also become the most athletes sent to the national team in ningxia, a non-traditional ice and snow region.

Cross-border cross-sports material selection also formulated a globalization plan, absorbing a number of ice and snow second-generation, Chinese athletes, involving figure skating, freestyle skiing, ice hockey, athletics and other sports, so that athletes with patriotic feelings have the opportunity to add glory to the motherland, but also let the spirit of sports tolerance and peace spread to the world.

More maintenance aviation talents grow and help China's ice and snow take off

As early as 2019, the heads of relevant departments have revealed the idea of eclectic talent reduction, towards the goal of participating in the whole project, in accordance with the four stages of "2018 expansion, 2019 fixed point, 2020 elite soldiers, and 2021 sprint".

In preparation for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics in 2014, the sum of the teams in each event was not more than 1,000 people. By 2018, China's ice and snow projects can be fully developed, and more than 4,000 people will be selected from 20,000 people to continue the next stage of training.

These more than 4,000 people have different "background colors", and the training is also tailored to their aptitudes. For example, athletes from rowing and middle-distance running have different muscle groups, muscle memory and training habits, even if they all cross-country skiing, they also need to be equipped with different coaches and support teams to design training methods in a targeted manner to ensure the delivery rate.

Most importantly, "science" runs through the training.

Since 2017, more than 300 external experts have served in the preparation for the Tokyo Olympic Games and the Beijing Winter Olympics, covering physical fitness, rehabilitation, nutrition, psychology and many other links, continuously improving the scientific level of training, and filling the gaps in the fields of big data analysis, motion capture, and sports biomechanics. For the first time, many athletes are involved in the analysis of their own biochemical indicators.

The cross-border cross-item thinking is also reflected in these external experts. After the Tokyo Olympics, all external experts "crossed" from summer to winter events. For example, the gymnastics team's foreign teachers can guide the same skilled snowboarding, and the rowing and kayaking foreign teachers can guide cross-country skiing and Nordic biathlons that also require endurance.

Experience and science are held in the highest esteem. Zhang Bei, who served as the principal of a sports school in Beijing, was selected as the leader of the cross-country skiing national team. Today, the team has qualified for all 12 minor events of cross-country skiing at the Winter Olympics.

With the completion of the National Ice and Snow Project Training Base and the National Ski Jumping Training and Scientific Research Base of the Erqi Factory, China has its own ice and snow training base camp, and "black technology" such as advanced wind tunnel testing has helped athletes win good results.

By making up for various shortcomings, China has achieved a historic breakthrough in the development of 109 sub-projects, the construction of teams and the training of all projects of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Recently, the good news before the Winter Olympics has been frequently reported, and some recruits have turned out to be the generals who have become the pillars. Su Yiming, who completed the world's first "internal rotation 1980 degrees" ultra-difficult action, is only 17 years old, becoming the first World Cup winner of China's men's snowboard jump, and he was a child star when he was a child; Peng Qingyue, who also crossed the discipline, although he was still using youth snowboards due to his young age, he had already obtained the "ticket" for ski jumping at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

It can be seen that snow projects are catching up, and China's long-term pattern of "ice strong and snow weak" is expected to break through at the Winter Olympics. China's ice and snow have begun to take off.

On the white paper of sports projects, a "cross" word writes out a successful turning point, and also brings the spirit of science, innovation and tolerance into other teams, this idea is constantly adjusted in practice, forming Chinese characteristics and becoming a valuable asset for promoting the sustainable development of sports.

This road, called "transgression", allows the forefront of the world to enter China, and also allows China to influence the world. Chinese sports people are increasingly involved in the work of international sports organizations and institutions, as well as in the formulation of international sports rules, and the credibility of national sports has been continuously improved. When the Olympic torch comes to China again, China will work with its world partners to achieve a leap forward.
