From January 14th to 16th, the 3rd Chinese Folk Arts Biennale and the 15th China Folk Art Mountain Flower Award Outstanding Folk Arts and Crafts Final Evaluation Activity will be held in Yuhang Mengqi Town, Hangzhou.
Approved by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee and jointly sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Folk Writers Association, the Chinese Folk Art Award is a national folk art award held every two years since 1999. The award mainly commends folk art workers with outstanding achievements, encourages more fine products and more talents, promotes the development of the prosperity of folk art undertakings of all ethnic groups in our country, and contributes to strengthening ethnic cultural exchanges, enhancing ethnic unity, and carrying forward the excellent culture of the Chinese nation.
This biennale will display and evaluate the achievements of national folk art work in the past two years, bringing together 80 finalist works (groups) of the Chinese Folk Art Mountain Flower Award and Excellent Folk Arts and Crafts from all over the country, and the exhibited works cover wood carving, stone carving, bamboo carving, ceramics, batik, clay sculpture and other categories, fully demonstrating the richness and exquisiteness of Chinese folk crafts. There will be a live webcast, and netizens can follow the anchors to "watch the exhibition online". In the end, the expert judges will finally select 8 "Mountain Flower Awards" that mark the highest level of Chinese folk skills from the exhibited works, leading the aesthetic and development direction of folk crafts.
