On January 13, the reporter learned from the Foshan Municipal Library that recently, the "14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Foshan Joint Library System" (hereinafter referred to as the "Planning") was officially released. The "Planning" proposes that Foshan will build a "people-centered" "reading city for all". By 2025, the number of member libraries of Foshan United Library is expected to exceed 600, and the city has more than 1.8 books in public libraries per capita. New breakthroughs will also be made in the construction of new museums in each district, and in the construction of new reading spaces, the five districts will also have their own characteristics.

The "Planning" has made arrangements for the development of the joint library system from eight aspects: top-level design, facility improvement, space upgrading, integrated development, resource co-construction, optimization of services, technology application, and publicity and promotion. By 2025, Foshan will take the joint library system as the main body, build a modern public reading service system around, in the palm and in the cloud, and create a "people-centered" "reading city for all".

According to the strategic deployment of the "Planning", by 2025, the number of member libraries of Foshan's joint library system is expected to exceed 600, and it will be built based on the four-level public library service network, led by the quality of new reading spaces such as smart libraries, smart cultural homes, and smart libraries, with various new format libraries such as Cantonese book bars, homestay libraries, neighborhood libraries, Qingkui libraries, and corporate culture as vertical and horizontal extensions, and other types of libraries such as school libraries and private libraries as important supplements. With digital libraries, mobile libraries, television libraries and other digital services as seamless filling, social forces widely participating, diversified integration of service resources, and a full-dimensional, multi-form, high-quality joint library system.

Among them, by 2025, the city will build 30 homestay libraries, 10 "corporate culture" composite cultural service spaces, 5 youth theme libraries - "Qingkui Library", and promote the high-quality development of 1200 neighborhood libraries.

In terms of resource security, in 2025, the city will have more than 1.8 books in public libraries per capita, and the Foshan Ancient Books Protection Center will be established to enhance the resource sharing and cooperation exchange of ancient book collection units, and promote the collection, collation and research of ancient books.

In terms of quality services, we will build a unified service platform for the city's literature network borrowing of "intelligent three-dimensional book library", continue to promote the "knowledge of new reading" new book lending service, create a special cultural brand of "Foshan National Reading Month" in August, and innovate and implement key service projects for children, the elderly, the disabled, industrial workers and other groups.

The construction of new museums in various districts will add new cultural landmarks to Foshan

All districts will also vigorously promote the construction of libraries and the creation of new reading spaces.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Sanshui and Nanhai will add three new libraries with a service area of more than 10,000, namely the new library of Sanshui District, the new library of Nanhai District, and the library of Nanhai High-tech Zone. Chancheng District Library will implement the expansion and upgrading of the old library, and the construction of the new library in Gaoming District is also planned. These new museums will have a higher appearance and more functions.

At the same time, the Nanhai Smart Library/Reading Station will achieve full coverage of 290 communities/villages. During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, more than 180 Nanhai Reading Stations were built, covering more than 140 communities/villages, and by 2023, Nanhai Reading Stations will achieve full coverage of 290 communities/villages.

In terms of the construction of new reading spaces, the five districts will also have their own characteristics. Shunde will combine the transformation of industrial parks with the construction of waterfront culture to create a "Shunde Study Room"; Gaoming District will support the supporting district government's "Global Tourism Demonstration Zone" plan to create a cultural and tourism integration feature book bar; Sanshui District will combine local characteristics of culture and public library services to build an ancient book house; Nanhai District will promote the upgrading of the original reading station function; Chancheng District will support the old appearance of rural libraries with intelligent upgrades to change their appearance and activate rural reading vitality.
