Apple's chip design in recent years has reached its peak, high-performance processors have broken through the x86 boundary, Apple's chip talent has also become a feast for major companies, the chip design director was poached by Intel a few days ago, and now another chip bull Mike Filippo has been poached by Microsoft.

Mike Filippo, who has reportedly been with Apple for more than two years, is an experienced semiconductor designer who has previously worked at arm and Intel, and has now joined Microsoft to join Azure, Microsoft's cloud computing division, where he focuses on processor research and development.

His department is run by Rani Borkar, and Microsoft is apparently following the path of competitors like Amazon and Google, preparing to develop its own server-specific chips, while Apple designers have extensive experience in this area.

Prior to that, Jeff Wilcox, Apple's director of Mac system architecture, moved to Intel, where he mainly assisted in the development of Apple chips. In the future, Wilcox will help Intel develop SoCs.

Wilcox helped Apple complete the chip transition task, helping the company build M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max SOCs systems. Apple's efforts to develop chips have put Pressure on Intel, and Intel is also developing products that can compete with Apple's chips.
