The number of participants in ice and snow sports reached 346 million (new data, new highlights)

Beijing, 12 Jan (Reporters Chen Chenxi, Ji Fang, Li Yang) On January 12, the State General Administration of Sport commissioned the National Bureau of Statistics to carry out a statistical survey of "driving 300 million people to participate in ice and snow sports" and released a report. The data shows that since the successful bid for the Beijing Winter Olympics in 2015, the number of residents participating in ice and snow sports has reached 346 million, achieving the goal of "driving 300 million people to participate in ice and snow sports" ahead of schedule.

In terms of age, the number of participants in ice and snow sports for residents aged 18 and above is 300 million, and the number of participants in ice and snow sports for residents under 18 years old is 46 million. Residents aged 18-30 had the highest participation rate in ice and snow sports, at 37.27%. From the regional point of view, the number of participants in the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions was 143 million, 0.68 billion, 0.84 billion and 0.51 billion respectively. From the perspective of participation purposes, among the interviewed people who have participated in ice and snow sports since 2015, the proportion of "entertainment and leisure" is the largest, accounting for 70.35%, followed by "physical fitness", accounting for 15.78%.
