The members of the "Mud Dog" club of Jingjiang Experimental School, under the leadership of instructors Li Juan and Chen Yan, carried shovels and baskets and marched at the foot of the Lonely Mountain. What was the purpose of their trip?
In the isolated mountain area, there is an ancient folk craft - mud dogs. Legend has it that the prototype of the mud dog is a righteous dog, which saved the people from the depths of the water when the plague occurred in the ancient Jingjiang River. In order to commemorate this righteous dog, people have made mud dogs. This kind of puppy clay sculpture made of yellow clay is clumsy in shape, exaggerated and not losing its attitude. The raw material of the mud dog is taken from the yellow mud in the southeast corner of Lone Mountain, which has fewer impurities, high viscosity, dry but not cracked, bent and continuous.
The members of the "Mud Dog" society came to collect mud.
"Let the children dig the dirt by hand, make mud dogs, feel the joy of labor, and improve their hands-on ability." Teacher Li Juan said. Enhancing children's labor skills is one of the original intentions of the establishment of the mud dog community, and the more important original intention is to let the mud dog, the local cultural "living fossil", be passed on from generation to generation, so that children can cultivate humanistic feelings, aesthetic tastes, exploration spirit, innovation ability and so on in the cultural inheritance. So, in 2017, the "Mud Dog" society was born.

"On the third of March, go up the lonely mountain." Every year on the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar, the temple fair in Gushan Town is lively and crowded. Almost all the people of Jingjiang will flock to the temple fair. It's a paradise for kids to play.
Wang Zishu, a member of the society, still remembers the first time he visited the Gushan Temple Fair. He was dazzled by the novelties of the temple fair, but what fascinated him most was not the good-looking sugar man or the delicious soup bun, but the colorful, cute mud dog that could make a crisp whistle.
"The mud dogs in the stall immediately attracted me, they are not only brightly colored, but they can also blow out loud, which is really fun!" Wang Zishu said.
Later, Wang Zishu saw the "Mud Dog" community in the introduction of the school club, was very surprised, and did not hesitate to choose it. After selection, Wang Zishu and more than 40 other classmates became members of the "Mud Dog" society.
Wang Zishu never dreamed that he would one day be able to make a mud dog as beautiful and fun as the Gushan Temple Fair. He was looking forward to it.

Although the process of making mud dogs is not complicated, each step is a test of patience.
The yellow mud retrieved from the isolated mountain must be removed from the sand, then dried and finely dried, in order to add water and mud. Next, it is necessary to complete the tedious processes such as pinching the head, pinching the body, pinching the limbs, pinching the mouth, pinching the ears, and making the eyes.

Finally, after she tried more than 30 times, the mud dog gave off a triumphant whistle!

"Can you make dinosaurs based on the shape of a dragon?"
