On February 24, 2011, in Taizhou, Jiangsu Province, the ancient tomb of the Ming Dynasty was found, and the female corpse in the tomb was still clearly visible after a thousand years, and this kind of decay that had gone through a hundred years without decay was simply unheard of, what did they rely on to keep the corpse incorruptible? How was this tomb discovered? What is the identity of this female corpse?

This ancient tomb was found by the construction team at the construction site, and a total of three pairs of Ming Dynasty coffins were found, with excellent coffin material and exquisite burial chamber, all of which were poured with pulp. In this Ming Dynasty tomb, only clay pots, wooden pillows, Ming Dynasty costumes, bones and so on were found. Although no cultural relics have been unearthed in the tomb, the female corpse in the tomb has been incorruptible for thousands of years, and her eyebrows are clearly visible. When the archaeologists opened the coffin, the female corpse was tightly wrapped in the corpse cloth clothes and quilt, its skin remained intact, the hair and facial features were clearly visible, and the top of the head was wearing a two-layer cloth hat, which was faintly visible on the pattern on the cap, and more surprisingly, the skin also had a fairly high elasticity. So what did this female corpse rely on to keep it from decaying for a thousand years?
Experts believe that the reason why this female corpse has remained unchanged for thousands of years. It is because it has been in a closed and airless space for a long time, in which there are herbs to prevent decay, and mercury is injected into the tomb. And because the coffin is poured with a slurry layer, the groundwater seeps into the coffin, which in turn provides a good air isolation environment for the body. And there are also geological reasons in Taizhou, which have led to the female corpse not decaying for thousands of years, and more than one such corpse has been found in Taizhou.
So what is the identity of this thousand-year-old female corpse? First of all, archaeologists through funerary customs to determine that this is a Ming Dynasty tomb, but in this tomb did not find a cultural relics recording the identity of the woman, and the coffin was watered with glutinous rice lime, it can be seen that this is a large family, but the clothes worn by the woman are not silk, and its clothes are cotton, which has to make people suspicious, which also leads to the identity of this female corpse is still a mystery.
Since experts did not find valuable information on this female corpse, the female corpse was subsequently preserved in a liquid soaked in formalin to prevent decay, but the author believes that one day the truth will come out.
