"Books and Far Away" submissions | our journey is the sea of stars

"We can travel to space in the future and build a house on Saturn..." The seeds of dreams that march towards the vast sea of stars are quietly sprouting in children's hearts, and I have always liked science fiction stories, so I deliberately found science fiction writer Xie Yunning's "Crossing saturn's Rings" and read it with children.

This is a very wonderful science fiction work, with Chinese romantic feelings for space, but also with the blessing of hardcore technology, but also highlights the humanistic care and life thinking, worth reading carefully.

"Ju HuaiYi is excited and wants to fly, and wants to go up to the blue sky and catch the bright moon." Ever since ancient times people observed the sun, moon and stars, we have begun to imagine the universe. Where did the world come from? What does it look like outside of Earth? What's in the universe? Those myths and stories about the stars, the legends of the cowherd weaver girl and the Chang'e running moon, all reflect the imagination of people at that time.

With the progress of science, the observed universe is getting bigger and bigger, and the more it reflects the smallness of human existence. Although human beings have not yet rushed out of the solar system, the human imagination has flown to the end of the universe. In this vast and boundless universe, there are endless nutrients to make science fiction take root, sprout, and bear fruit. The author's inspiration for Crossing saturn's rings came from the news that Saturn's probe Cassini flew past Titan for the last time.

The story of "Crossing saturn's rings" is about survival on Saturn's moons and space rescue, the whole process is full of twists and turns, but in the end it will be solved through science fiction. In addition to space adventures, the authors also wrote about other science fiction projects, such as human cloning, AI intelligence, 3D printing technology, VR, genetic modification, etc. It is with the blessing of these hardcore technologies that the protagonist's survival in space and space rescue can be realized.

The most impressive thing about this "Crossing saturn rings" is the intelligent AI Doris in the Saturn probe. Whether it is the protagonist's drifting away from space, or eventually surviving on Enceladus, or even organizing a rescue team to come to the rescue of Saturn, it is inseparable from Doris's strong help. Although intelligent AI has no form, "she" will continue to grow through self-learning, and "she" has super rational thinking and feelings. The makers of "her" implanted fragments of their daughter's memories into "her" memories, giving "her" human-like emotions.

Our journey is a sea of stars. This work allowed me to see the bright future prospects of China's original science fiction novels. At the same time, I also believe that some of the scientific and technological projects in the book will be realized in the near future.
