In 1942, Cai Chunru joined the army and became a signal soldier
Cai Chunru, born in Sanbaihu Village, Jixian County, Hebei Province, joined the army in 1942 and was incorporated into the 11th Regiment of the Jidong Military Subdistrict, serving as a signal soldier at the regimental headquarters. At that time, Zhao Wenjin was the commander of the 11th Regiment of the Jidong Military Sub-district, and when Commander Zhao saw that Cai Chunru was clever and not very old, he let him be a signal soldier and followed him in peacetime.
In June 1942, the troops were stationed in Qian'an County, Hebei Province, and one day, the regimental commander stood on the Great Wall with Cai Chunru, and they looked down on the land of eastern Hebei, only to see that the Japanese bunkers were dotted with deep ditches. The regimental commander told Cai Chunru: "Our troops will soon return to Jidong, and you can stop by and take a look at it." "Hearing that the troops are going to their hometown, Cai Chunru is very happy!"
Commander Li Yunchang held a meeting of cadres to discuss the plan of action, the troops were ready to go, and the soldiers were rubbing their fists and asking to act as pioneers.

The Eighth Route Army marches
On the way, it was blocked by the Japanese army, and the 11th regiment was surrounded by the Japanese army
That night, the regiments marched as planned, constantly encountering small groups of enemy harassment along the way, and the troops fought and walked. Sing triumphant songs all the way, the action goes smoothly. The enemy panicked, and the enemy mobilized heavy troops to block our advance. The movement of the 12th and 13th regiments of our army was blocked.
Under the leadership of Commander Li Yunchang of the Military Sub-district, the 11th Regiment fought all the way to the village of Nanqingzheng north of the Shanxi Jinshan Railway in Tangshan, but unexpectedly, the team was besieged there by a large number of Japanese troops, and was in a dilemma, and the troops blocked the Japanese army on the spot.
The Japanese reinforcements were constantly coming, the situation was grim, and after one day of fierce fighting, in the early morning of the next day, our army ran out of ammunition and was exhausted. Commander Zhao took Cai Chunru to the top of the hill in Nanqing village to observe the enemy situation, and Japanese car sent reinforcements and ammunition from the direction of Tianjin and Tangshan, and the enemy was densely packed like locusts, trapping our army in Nanqingpi, and then looking at Beiqingli, which had been occupied by the Japanese army.
In the afternoon, the Japanese encirclement became smaller and tighter, and the 11th Regiment was forced to retreat to the courtyard of a large landlord's house in South Qingfang, suffering heavy casualties, but the morale of the soldiers was high, and they vowed to fight the Japanese to the end.
The Japanese army blocked our army
Breakout in blood
Commander Li Yunchang and Commander Zhao decided to break through and preserve their strength. Commander Zhao summoned Cai Chunru and asked him to temporarily serve as Commander Li's guard to protect him from breaking through.
The reconnaissance report: The Japanese forces were concentrated in the northern part of the village to prevent our army from breaking through from the north.
The commander decided to break through from the south and ordered the second company to make a feint attack in the north, while the main company of the army broke through to the south.
Late at night, Commander Zhao ordered a company to assemble, and he told everyone that the situation was grim and that they must break through. Wu Rongfu, the commander of a company, ordered: "All companies are on the bayonet", suddenly opened the gate, the warriors rushed out, and launched a fierce white-knife battle with the Japanese army.
The Japanese army was caught off guard and killed a lot, they panicked, turned around and fled, and the Eighth Route Army chased all the way north, shouting and killing.
Cai Chunru covered Commander Li and rushed out with a company to break through to the south. Commander Li did not close his eyes for several days and nights, and his physical strength was weak, and Cai Chunru helped him run all the way. The machine guns of the Japanese troops in the front began to strafe at them, and many of the fighters fell, and Commander Lee ordered everyone to immediately hide. At the critical moment, several fighters threw grenades, blew up the devil's machine gun positions, and tore open an opening in the enemy defense line. Commander Li's guards brought in a small donkey, and Cai Chunru helped Commander Li up with him, and the guards pulled the donkey and rushed.
Cai Chunru saw that they had rushed out of the siege, and his heart relaxed suddenly, he returned to find Commander Zhao and rushed together, and the soldiers followed behind, and finally broke through the siege.
The Eighth Route Army broke through
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the enemy was strong and we were weak, the troops were often besieged by the enemy, the narrow road met the brave to win, and the weapons of our army were inferior to those of the Japanese army, but the soldiers were highly morale, dared to fight and fight, killed a bloody road, and finally the victory belonged to the warriors.
