In the last years of the Ming Dynasty, natural and man-made disasters caused a series of social contradictions. Eventually, the Ming Dynasty, which was troubled internally and externally, was replaced by the Qing government. Even the last emperor, Chongzhen, was hanged on the mountain because of the destruction of the country and his family. What is puzzling is that after the Manchu Qing Entered the Customs, why did it ban Changbai Mountain for more than two hundred years, and what was the hidden plot in it? Simply put, there are three main reasons.
First, the Manchu Qing government was preparing itself for a way back. As we all know, the Manchus are only an ethnic minority, and their number is much worse than that of the Han Chinese. The reason why they were able to break into the capital and occupy the entire land of China. Mainly because the Central Dynasty had a war and picked up a big bargain. After the Manchu Qing government occupied Jiangshan, it was always panicked, often worried about the re-emergence of the Han Chinese and the complete overthrow of their dominance. Because of this, the Manchu Qing government regarded its birthplace, Changbai Mountain, as a back road. If there is a problem in the future, there is no way to take charge of the country. They can also lead their troops to break through and return to the Changbai Mountain area to live as before.
Second, they were afraid of losing Changbai Mountain. When the Manchus entered the customs, although their combat effectiveness was very strong, their thinking was relatively simple. The system in the early Qing Dynasty was basically the same as that in the Ming Dynasty. In the minds of the Manchu nobles, the Han chinese were stronger than them in both thought and creativity. If the Han Chinese were allowed to go to Changbai Mountain, they would most likely lose control of Changbai Mountain.
Third, the nobles of Mancheng believed that Changbai Mountain was the land of Longxing. From Nurhaci onwards, the Manchu nobles regarded Changbai Mountain as their lifeblood. When the Qianlong Emperor was in power, he compared Changbai Mountain to the land of Longxing. They believe that Changbai Mountain is closely related to their own national destiny and must be closely protected from any damage.
In order to achieve this goal, the Qing government not only sent heavy troops to guard the Changbai Mountain area, but also set up a fence on the periphery to prohibit anyone from breaking in at will. Unfortunately, this strict prevention and defensive approach did not stop the people's coveting of Changbai Mountain. Because there are a lot of precious animals and plants in it, such as ginseng and deer antler velvet, you can find a little bit of it and sell it at a large price in the market. These self-interested people managed to sneak into changbai mountain in order to get money. Over time, even the officers and men stationed in the local area started the idea of Changbai Mountain.
