Theoretical research
In terms of theoretical research, he proposed the theoretical framework of regional architecture. In the 1980s, taking the simple environmental concept as the starting point, he formed a creative concept characterized by architectural technology innovation and environmental integration; in the 1990s, he initiated the formation of a creative team "Heavenly Architecture" and proposed a rational creation method of holistic thinking; by this century, a theoretical framework of regional architecture with natural growth, urban connection and cultural association as the core has been formed. The newly published three monographs of "Liaodong Bay", "Heavenly Architecture" and "Plain Nature" systematically summarize his nearly 40 years of theoretical exploration and practical innovation.

In terms of engineering practice, in 2008, he served as the chief designer of Liaodong Bay New Area, leading the creative team to explore urban and rural design practice under the dimension of cold land for ten years, forming an urban growth model of "one city, one team" and "one blueprint, overall implementation".
