Sand dune ruins were found in Dongguan, Guangdong Province

Recently, dongguan city, Guangdong Province, united provincial institute of cultural relics and archaeology in Humen town Shajiao village to carry out archaeological survey and exploration, in the exploration process found a dune site, which is the first dune type ancient cultural site found in Dongguan, the site is from the end of the Neolithic to the Shang period. The excavation area of the site is 300 square meters, the early cultural layer accumulation can be divided into two layers, the upper layer is a gray-brown sand layer, containing a large number of bream, red burnt soil blocks, pottery pieces, etc., the lower layer is a yellow-brown sand layer, the sand is purer, the breech is reduced, and the pottery pieces are larger; no obvious early remains have been found. Excavations unearthed jade rings, a large number of pottery pieces, stone tools, pottery pieces are mainly sand pottery, a small amount of clay pottery, a wide variety of ornaments, vessel shapes such as pots, kettles, beans, etc.; stone tools have tungsten, rings, hammers, orstones. Judging from the characteristics and accumulation status of the excavated relics, the site is dated from the end of the Neolithic period to the Shang period, and the excavation area may be the dumping site of production and domestic garbage in the settlement, and the preservation status is general.
