Emperor Shijō was born
On March 17, 1231, his birth was highly anticipated. So everyone hoped that Shijo's father, Emperor Gohorikawa, would have a child as soon as possible, and it seemed that the Japanese imperial family would always be promoted by the people no matter what time. Unfortunately, Emperor Gohorikawa had a hard time having children, and in the second year of Anzhen (1228), a woman gave birth to an imperial daughter for the emperor, and after a few years she gave birth again, and it turned out to be another child. After listening to it, the people sighed one after another, how it was so difficult to wait for a prince.
On February 12, 1231, the much-anticipated crown prince was finally born, and his mother was Kujo, the daughter of the Kujo Daoist clan of Kanpaku. The name was so strange that two months later the emperor made the child Prince Hidehito. In October, he was made crown prince, and it can be seen that at this time the emperor already wanted to implement the system of the imperial government.
This child was spoiled by the whole country from birth, and it took a lot of hard work to wait for his birth. On October 4, 1232, Emperor Gohorigawa chose to abdicate, allowing Hidehito, who was only two years old at the time, to ascend the throne as Emperor Shijō. This is not good, the palace ladies are also frightened, the child is not fully developed, the four emperors fell to their deaths, January 9, died. After his death, imperial court officials quarreled over the issue of heirs, and Emperor Shijō's father had only one son.
