The Japanese agent we mentioned above is Guo Shantang, who once served as the head of the security department of the Beijing Military Region.
Guo Shantang was born in the year of the May Fourth Movement, joined the guerrillas at the age of eighteen, joined the ranks of the War of Resistance Against Japan, and then joined the Communist Party of China.

In the early 1940s, our army formed a professional special task force, and Guo Shantang was one of them.
Guo Shantang went to the Japanese puppet army activity center under the name of Lin Hongzhou to engage in intelligence gathering, and with his own bravery and courage and witty mind, Guo Shantang successfully penetrated into the Japanese puppet army. During this period, Guo Shantang delivered countless favorable information to our army and successfully struck a blow at the arrogance of the Japanese army.
Often walking by the river where he could not get his shoes wet, Guo Shantang was arrested by the gendarmerie, not because he recognized his identity, but because of his style. Guo Shantang, a person who usually does not smoke or drink, does not play mahjong and does not look for women, can be said to be completely contrary to the style of the puppet army, and the gendarmerie seriously suspects that he is the Eighth Route Army.
After being arrested, Guo Shantang was punched and kicked by the Japanese gendarmes, used all kinds of inhuman torture, and passed out again and again, even so, Guo Shantang did not say a word unfavorable to our army, and finally released Guo Shantang without any information.
But doubt, once it arises, is endless.
Until this time, the Japanese gendarmes sent Guo Shantang to a town to run errands, Guo Shantang knew that there would be people following, so he never contacted the operator, but he appeared every day, attracted the attention of the villager Wang Laotou, thinking that Guo Shantang was a traitorous lackey, he threw a shovel over, and Guo Shantang, who was hit in the head, immediately fell down, full of blood, this trouble, our party thought that Guo Shantang was sacrificed, fortunately, Guo Shantang climbed to the operator with a lot of strength and was treated.
In this regard, the Japanese also dispelled their suspicions about Guo Shantang and trusted him more, and Guo Shantang continued to carefully do intelligence work under the eyes of the Japanese gendarmes.
After the surrender of Japan, Guo Shantang returned to his hometown, was insulted and thrown things away by various insults, and the villagers tied up the big secret agent in this eye and handed it over to the government, until they got in touch with their superiors, they cleared their identity as spies, restored Guo Shantang's status as a Communist Party member, and warmly received this great hero.
After visiting his family, Guo Shantang returned to the army, and then continued to participate in the guerrilla team to carry out new tasks, and after liberation, Guo Shantang was promoted to the head of the security department of the Beijing Military Region, which is gratifying and congratulatory.
While Guo Shantang pretended to be a traitor to gain the trust of the enemy, he also lost the trust of our people, and in such a difficult situation, he still had to wholeheartedly do his revolutionary cause, and what kind of inner struggle and pain Guo Shantang experienced was far from what we could not have imagined, praising his bravery and wit, praising his sincerity and dedication.
Hats off to the heroes! Hats off to Guo Shantang!
