Recently, a major archaeological discovery in the Xi'an area is to confirm the location of the Tomb of emperor Wen of Han. Another important emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, the Han Jing Emperor, whose mausoleum, hanyang mausoleum, has revealed part of the appearance of the han dynasty emperor's mausoleum.
Hanyang Mausoleum is a mausoleum where Liu Qi, the Jing Emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, and Empress Wang were buried together, which was built in 153 BC and completed in 126 BC, with a total area of 20 square kilometers and a construction time of up to 28 years.
Liu Qi (188 BC – 141 BC), the Emperor of the Han Dynasty, was the fourth emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, reigning for 17 years. During his reign, he worshipped the "Art of Huang Lao", lightly dispensed with thin endowments, reduced flogging and punishment, and pro-Xiongnu, rested with the people, and together with his father Liu Heng, the Emperor Wen of Han, created the "Rule of Wenjing", which was praised by later generations as the golden age of The Early Governance of China's feudal society, and laid a solid economic foundation for his son Liu Che, the Emperor wu of Han, to open up the territory and expand the territory.
After more than 40 years of archaeological exploration and excavation, it has been found that the Hanyang Mausoleum is mainly composed of the Imperial Tombs, the Houling Cemetery, the South District From the Burial Pit, the North District from the Burial Pit, the Ceremonial Building, the Funerary Cemetery, the Prisoners Cemetery and the Yangling Yi. The Imperial Tombs are square, sitting west to east, surrounded by 81 radial funerary pits; the Shinto outside the east gate of the mausoleum is 900 meters long, connecting with the 110-meter-wide Sima Dao, and leading directly to Yanglingyi, 5 kilometers away, and more than 10,000 funerary tombs of princes and generals and civil and military officials are neatly arranged on the north and south sides of the Sima Dao. The samurai figurines unearthed in more than 200 funerary pits in the mausoleum area are wearing strong and sharp and waiting in strict formation; the female figurines are widely dressed and beautiful; and the animal figurines are thousands of and vivid. Its rich funerary products are the true embodiment of the funeral concept of the Chinese feudal emperor "death as a matter of life". Hanyang Mausoleum is the most complete han dynasty imperial mausoleum discovered so far, so it has become an important physical material for people to understand and study the imperial tomb system of the Han Dynasty and the history and culture of the Han Dynasty.
At present, the Hanjing Diyang Mausoleum Museum has four basic exhibitions: the Archaeological Exhibition Hall, the Imperial Tomb Outer Hidden Pit Site Protection Exhibition Hall, the Nanquemen Ruins Protection Exhibition Hall, and the Zongmiao Ruins, displaying more than 10,000 cultural relics.
