He firmly believed that this was a punishment for him, a retribution for his sins, and he was heartbroken and often wanted to commit suicide, but Chiken Kashiwakura was a devout Shinto, and he believed that after his death, the sinful souls were also restless, and in order to seek the last peace, he was determined to scatter his ashes on the land of China after death and let his soul atone for his sins.
