During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army was incorporated into the battle sequence of the Nationalist Army and renamed the Eighth Route Army of the Eighteenth Group Army of the National Revolutionary Army, referred to as the Eighth Route Army, with peng Dehuai as the commander and Yan Xishan in name. When Yan Xishan fought against the Japanese army in the early days, he was often attacked by the Japanese army. Therefore, Gan Zuchang, the logistics director of the 359th Brigade of the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army, mobilized the brains of this batch of materials and planned to transport them out.
After several days of disguised reconnaissance, Gan Zuchang was convinced that the Japanese army was unstable, that the garrison was insufficient, that the barbed wire and garrison were not in place, and that the gendarmerie had not yet been transferred. So he decided to hollow out the bricks from the back wall of the courtyard, and then sneaked in with a few soldiers, studied the placement of supplies inside the warehouse and the placement of the guard posts, and of course, touched some supplies.
The next day, he came with his warriors, his fellow countrymen, dressed up in disguise. The soldiers were responsible for touching in and carrying, and the villagers drove the donkey cart past and worked, taking advantage of the devils to relax their vigilance and send the contents of the arsenal to the "assembly line" of the villagers. In this way, in just ten days, the devil's arsenal was completely moved.
General Gan has always liked to deal with farmers and is willing to live in the countryside himself. After he unloaded his armor and returned to the fields, he used his subsidies and allowances to build water conservancy and improve the soil with the villagers, and he also led the production activities in his hometown and built his hometown into what he dreamed of before the revolution. The people loved the native general very much, and affectionately called the old general "peasant general". His spirit of being with the people in this hard and simple moment is also highly respected.
