It adopts the double-ring design of the same P50 on the back, but the difference is that the camera is all concentrated on the top, and below is a 1.04-inch second screen, which can be used to display weather, notifications, schedules and other information, and can answer the phone, selfie preview, play music and other operations, practicality is still good.
Huawei P50 Pocket uses the same vertical folding scheme of the Samsung Z Flip3, and the front is also a centered digging design, which does look like the "brother" of the Samsung Z Flip3, but it is undeniable that the back cover design of the Huawei P50 Pocket looks better and more stylish. But because I started with the black version, I didn't use the matte glass, it was very easy to stick fingerprints, and the naked party shed tears!
Crease, hover experience
As a folding screen mobile phone, the experience of crease and hover is what I am most concerned about, but in this regard, Huawei P50 Pocket did not surprise me, and even some regrets. First of all, its creases, not as strong as blown at the press conference, the existence of creases can still be seen in daily use, and it is still more obvious, to be honest, I am a little disappointed.
Then there is the hover experience, and the performance of the Huawei P50 Pocket is also relatively "pull-cross". Only within 90 degrees, it can achieve the effect of hovering, but I wonder, who will fold it to within 90 degrees to use? Once it exceeds 90 degrees, the mobile phone hinge begins to loosen, and then it is safely "lying down", and the practicality can be said to be almost nothing. And when using it, I found that the position of the hinge in the middle of the Huawei P50 Pocket screen will have an inconsistent feel, and there will be a feeling of depression when touching, which is a general experience.
Heat dissipation performance
Huawei P50 Pocket is equipped with a Snapdragon 888 4G processor, and the use of folding design, in terms of heat dissipation has a large disadvantage, so at the beginning I did not hope for its thermal performance. After the experience is indeed the case, casually brush vibrato, Weibo, I feel that the secondary screen area is somewhat hot, daily use is OK, but if you want to use it to play games, I think it is not realistic.
Battery life, charging performance
After a week or so of experience, I also have a general understanding of the battery life and charging performance of huawei P50 Pocket. It is equipped with a 4000mAh battery, the original battery capacity is not large, and there are 120Hz screen + Snapdragon 888 these two "power consumption households", the battery life can only be said to be general, about 4 hours like this, the power began to be urgent, a day a charge is a problem. Huawei P50 Pocket supports up to 40W, the same as the Mate20 Pro in my hand 3 years ago, the charging speed can only be said to be average, it takes about 1 hour and a few minutes to charge to full power.
Overall, after a week of experience, I think the Huawei P50 Pocket has surprises, but more regrets. The surprise is that the appearance design is indeed very exquisite, good-looking, and the whole machine feels very good, but there will be more regrets, such as crease control is not as good as advertised, does not support the hover effect, and the performance of heat dissipation, endurance and charging is relatively general. The starting price of 8988 yuan is indeed too high, I personally think it will be more appropriate to reduce to the 6K price, but this can only be thought of, if the full score is 10 points, I will only give huawei P50 Pocket 6 points.
