Hefei, January 6 (Reporter Xu Peng) On January 4, in Dongliangshan Town, Jiujiang District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province, the 800 kV UHVDC transmission project of the Baihetan-Jiangsu ± successfully capping the Yangtze River across the south bank of the tower. At this point, the construction of the Baihetan-Jiangsu UHV (Anhui section) cross-river steel pipe tower has been completed.

The Yangtze River Grand Leap Project crosses the Yangtze River in Wuhu City, Ma'anshan City and County, Anhui Province, with a length of 2.1 kilometers, a tower height of 278.2 meters and a weight of 2200 tons. In this construction, the ± 800 kV and ± 500 kV mixed pressure spread wings large span steel pipe tower set up is the first time in China. At present, the entire line project has entered the stage of tackling tough problems in an all-round way, and it is planned to be completed and put into operation in the first half of 2022.

It is worth mentioning that the project attaches great importance to the ecological and environmental protection of the Yangtze River along the line, makes full use of the resources of the original cross-river line corridor for parallel corridor construction, minimizes the occupation of land resources in the Yangtze River Basin, avoids important natural landscapes and important flood control areas in the Yangtze River Basin, and realizes the harmonious development of power construction and ecological civilization.

According to reports, the UHVDC transmission project is a key project of the national "west-to-east power transmission" strategy, starting from Butuo County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and ending in Changshu City, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. When the project is put into operation, it will transmit more than 31.2 billion kWh of electricity per year.
