On the last day of last year, Tesla posted a message on China's official microblogging platform announcing the official opening of its first Tesla center in Xinjiang, according to the Global Times. As soon as the news came out, it immediately aroused widespread concern from all walks of life at home and abroad, and even some US politicians attacked Tesla with the so-called "human rights issue" in Xinjiang.
Since Tesla entered China, its related industries have not interrupted their development with the help of China's foreign investment to introduce preferential policies, not only setting up manufacturing plants in Shanghai, but also opening new stores everywhere in China, which has also indirectly led to the rapid development of China's electric vehicle market. The establishment of tesla service centers this time is only a pure commercial act, why did it suddenly arouse the opposition of the US government? The key to this is the location of this service center.
The service center in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, is Tesla's showroom in the westernmost part of China, but this isn't the first time Tesla has entered the area. At present, Tesla has built 2 superchargering stations in Urumqi and a total of 7 superchargering stations in the entire Xinjiang region, helping Xinjiang to develop a "green and environmentally friendly" travel mode.
In this regard, the person in charge of Tesla's northwest region also introduced that the Urumqi Tesla Center is an important starting point for Tesla to develop a service network in Xinjiang, not only to provide one-stop services for local consumers, but also to continue to spread the green environmental protection concept of "energy saving and carbon reduction" to the northwest region.
In particular, before the new store opened, U.S. President Joe Biden had just signed a so-called "Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act" that prohibited U.S. companies and individuals from importing any Xinjiang-made products, which means that companies or individuals must prove that the goods they sell or buy do not exist from Xinjiang. Not long ago, in response to this bill, those foreign companies led by the US government also began to follow the trend, wal-mart and Sam's Club deliberately removed Xinjiang products, which also triggered a wave of Chinese people's withdrawal from the card in China.
Today, Tesla's practice of doing the opposite is directly touching the "reverse scale" of the US government. A U.S. lawmaker who frequently hypes anti-China said on social media that Biden has just signed the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act, and Tesla has opened a store in Xinjiang, which not only makes the United States look disgraced, but also in the Eyes of the White House, Tesla is helping China "cover up genocide and forced labor in the region."

Even White House spokesman Psaki responded by saying that "private companies should oppose China's human rights abuses and genocide in Xinjiang" and warning tesla that it "faces serious legal, reputational and customer risks." In the eyes of clear-eyed people, Psaki's statement does not have any relevant legal basis to follow, but is just a threatening statement of the US government to related enterprises.
In fact, according to the US government's bill, Tesla's sale of electric vehicles in Xinjiang is not a so-called "forced labor in the supply chain" at all, nor does it violate relevant laws and regulations. The U.S. government's attack on Tesla is only because the U.S. government is concentrating all its forces to curb China's development, but Tesla has stood up to overturn this move, but it has made itself unable to step down.
If, in the future, the American people take advantage of Tesla's good momentum in Xinjiang and discover the so-called "human rights violations and genocide" truth concocted by the US government, then the political plot to use it to deal with other countries will also be destroyed.
Tesla's success in the Chinese market as the only wholly foreign-owned car company that has invested in China in recent years can better illustrate the possibility of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation between China and the United States.
