According to reports, hospice care is to provide physical, psychological, spiritual and other aspects of care and humanistic care services for elderly or terminally ill patients before their death, so as to control the pain and discomfort symptoms of elderly patients, improve their quality of life, and help them die comfortably, peacefully and with dignity.
According to statistics, as of the end of June 2021, there were 74 medical institutions in Beijing that carried out hospice services, providing 901 beds; 83,193 hospice nursing outpatient emergency visits; and 23,711 discharges. However, Song Weizu pointed out that "now our hospice care mainly relies on hospitals, and there are about hundreds of beds in the city, which is actually a drop in the bucket compared with the needs of tens of thousands of people." At the same time, establish a standard system for aging transformation and a standardized management system for engineering.
