But what is very strange is why these people who were sentenced to the Nine Tribes did not run away, but were obediently arrested? You know Chinese are not stupid, they are very smart for thousands of years, so why don't they run?
In fact, there are reasons for all this, according to the historical records, there was no Jiujiu tribe in the beginning, and the Jiujiu tribe was from the Yisan tribe. Yisan ethnic group is a kind of criminal name in the Qin and Han Dynasties, there are two theories, one is that parents and brothers, wives are three ethnic groups, and others are said that fathers, mothers, and wives are three ethnic groups. Generally speaking, there are ten evil sins that are sentenced, one is rebellion, two is rebellion, three is rebellion, four is evil rebellion, five is ungodly, six is great disrespect, seven is filial piety, eight is disharmony, nine is unrighteous, and ten is civil strife.
The number of the Jiujiu clan is even greater, including the queen mother at the top, the xuansun below, the parent family, the children's family, the brother and sister family, and the mother-in-law family. Later, it became that some of the people involved were called the Nine Tribes. The famous people of the Yi tribe were Li Si and Zhao Gao, who were punished in the late Qin dynasty. Later, the Nine Tribes were punished by Zhu Yuanzhang's chancellor Hu Weiyong, and as many as 30,000 people were implicated in Hu Weiyong's case, which was listed as a major case in the early Ming Dynasty.
Another person who is more famous in the Nine Tribes is Fang Xiaoru, Zhu Di initiated the Jing Dynasty and successfully ascended the throne, and Emperor Jianwen disappeared. Zhu Di was more concerned about his name and wanted to ask Fang Xiaoru, who was relatively prestigious at that time, to draft an edict, but Fang Xiaoru was more pedantic and upright, and he thought that Zhu Di's imperial name was not justified and said that "Yan thief usurped the throne". An angry Zhu Di threatened to believe the Nine Tribes, and as a result, Fang Xiaoru had the courage to say that what about the Ten Tribes? So Zhu Di attributed Fang Xiaoru's students to the Tenth Clan and was killed along with Fang Xiaoru's family, and eventually killed eight hundred and seventy-three people.
And the reason why they don't run is also very simple, they can't afford to run, first of all, the Nine Tribes include too many people. There are old and young, what if you run away from those people? Even if they can leave their families and run away from the imperial court, they will not let them go, and the whole world will not be the king's land. This sentence is not a joke, if you want to escape, you must do a good job of hiding for a lifetime, and you can't get familiar with people. And this kind of life is often clean and poor, the nine tribes that are expected to be cursed are generally official eunuch families, how can they bear this kind of suffering from childhood, it is better to die.
If you escape and get caught, you will have to suffer a punishment, and if you suffer the crime, you will have to die, so it is better not to run in the first place. On the other hand, even if the imperial court is unable to catch the prisoners who have run away, someone will report it, and the bounty in ancient times was very high. And in ancient times, there was identity recognition, a kind of thing equivalent to an identity card, without which it was possible to enter the city. Then you can only sleep in the wilderness, which is also very dangerous. Therefore, generally people who have been accused of the Nine Tribes will not choose to escape, because the end of running away is not necessarily better than losing their heads, and the people who cause trouble may be happy, but the people who are accused of being killed by him are still quite innocent.
