On the morning of January 4, the construction of the highly anticipated G3 Tongling Yangtze River Railway Bridge officially began.
After the completion of the bridge, there will be a fourth river crossing on the 134.4-kilometer section of the Yangtze River in Tongling.
G3 Tongling Yangtze River Railway Bridge has a total length of 11.88 kilometers, starting from the Garden Village of Chenyaohu Town, suburban of Tongling City, ending at the Democratic Village of Datong Town, on the outskirts of Tongling City, and connecting the G3 Jingtai Expressway at both ends, which not only undertakes the function of replacing the bridge of the Tongling Yangtze River Highway Bridge, but also carries the railway across the river, and the joint construction section of the public railway is about 2.68 kilometers long, and will be built in accordance with the standard of four-line railway + six-lane highway.
The main span of the bridge is 988 meters, a bridge flying on both sides of the river, the use of suspension - cable-stayed cooperation system, after completion, will effectively share the traffic pressure of the Tongling Yangtze River Highway Bridge, for the construction of a copper development belt, accelerate the realization of coordinated regional economic development, strengthen the Yangtze River Delta interconnection, and build a modern comprehensive transportation system is of great significance.
