Jingbian Storytelling is a kind of folk rap art, which is easy to understand and has a strong atmosphere of life, and is deeply loved by the broad masses, especially the peasants.
For a long time, storytelling was the patent of the blind. The old blind man teaches the little blind man, and the master takes the apprentice, all by dictation. The master patiently taught, the disciple carefully remembered, from generation to generation, this is how it continues. In the old society, clear-eyed people did not learn to write. First, because it is immoral, it is impossible to take away the business of the poor blind; second, it is ashamed to operate this kind of industry, thinking that it is an unnoble livelihood. Without the guidance of knowledgeable and discerning people, it is all up to blind artists who are both blind and illiterate to innovate and develop in an extremely narrow circle, so that although this folk art is a kind of folk art that the masses like very much, it cannot be vigorously developed in the end.
In the era when people's living standards were generally low, only people with well-off families could afford to hire storytellers. And because Jingbian is located in the middle of nowhere, traffic is not smooth, the news is closed, there is basically no cultural and entertainment activities in all seasons of the year, if anyone invites a bookmaker, the whole village will come to listen to the book, the books mentioned are mostly wish books (also wish), family home peace books, the masses who listen to the books will sit in the front kiln and the back kang full.
Storytelling is generally a seven-character sentence, a five-character sentence, and the tone of the storyteller has a flower tone, a plum blossom tone, a flower tone string tune, a shang yin plum blossom tune, a bitter tone plum blossom tune, a plum blossom tune, a soft siping, a continuous phase tone, a full of stars, a coincidence, a single tone, a two-tone tone, a pair of tones, a pair of tones, a western cool tone, a floor cotton, a tooth card, a martial tune, a running Kanto tone, a fan cavity, a thirteen cough, a Buddha cavity, a crying cavity, a zizi cavity, a haha cavity, a cough cavity, a shadow cavity, a hu hu cavity, a two-nest cavity, and other nine and eighteen tones, according to the joy, anger, sorrow, and music of the characters in the book. The development of the storyline, there are slow sentences, fast sentences, literary sentences, martial sentences, male cavity, female cavity, laughter cavity, anger cavity and other rap tones that express various emotions, so that the listener is immersed in the scene, along with the characters in the book with joy and sorrow.
The accompaniment instruments of storytelling have three strings or pipa on the south road and east road, and the west road (Jingbian) storytelling is mainly three strings. In addition, the storyteller tied the calf to the "talking board" (flinging board), and the right hand wears the "hemp chirping", that is, a thin bamboo piece strung together with the sway of the string player to make a sound. The flinging board and "hemp chirping" are actually used as three-string auxiliary percussion.
At first, Jingbian shushu was a person who played himself. Now the traditional one-person self-talk has evolved into playing, speaking, and singing separately, with one person speaking, and three or four people speaking different roles and answering each other. The instrument is not a single three-stringed lute, but the addition of huqin, flute and xiaoluo, small drum and other blowing percussion instruments. Make the storytelling scene more enthusiastic and prosperous. And the original sit-in storytelling gradually evolved into "walking storytelling", the main speaker while speaking while doing a variety of twisting, running, walking movements according to the changes in the personality of the characters in the book, the dramatic performance factors are fully integrated. The singing voice also adds various ventriloquisms such as meihu, Taoist love, folk songs, and xintianyou to various ventriloquisms such as male, female, chicken and dog barking, etc., and the form of storytelling is lifelike, dramatic, and performed, and wears a uniform performance costume. The use of modern technologies such as microphones and loudspeakers has transformed this ancient folk art into a new type of storytelling art that adapts to modern people and modern life, turning the "listener" into an "audience", and turning the art of hearing and storytelling that only relies on the ear into a visual viewing art of hearing and seeing, thus more meeting people's various aesthetic needs.
Jingbian Shushu is rooted in the people's life, is closely related to the people's life, production and labor, love, and emotions, and has a strong vitality of its own. In recent years, the Jingbian Cultural Center has made many efforts to select and train storytellers and create high-quality storytellers, which is undoubtedly a great impetus to the development and innovation of Jingbian storytelling as a folk art. It is believed that Jingbian Storytelling will carry forward the vast expanse of Jingbian on this hot land and will always be brilliant and fragrant.
