Qianlong Emperor, why did he pass through Jinan 9 times and not enter the city? The city had hated him for 50 years

Thirty years after Qianlong, the Qianlong Emperor began his fourth southern tour, and after entering the territory of Shandong, the Qianlong Emperor still chose the Dezhou capital instead of the larger Jinan province to garrison. When passing through Jinan Province, the Qianlong Emperor gave a poem and spat out his regrets and wounds:

Four times Jinan does not enter the city, afraid of a hundred tragic lives. Spring and March are not divided into partial dramas, and seventeen years of hatred have not been peaceful.

It turned out that this was not the first time that the Qianlong Emperor passed through Jinan without entering the city, and in the previous process of the Eastern Tour and the Southern Tour, the Qianlong Emperor had already passed through Jinan three times without entering the city.

The Qianlong Emperor made a tour

In fact, the thirty years of Qianlong were not the last performance of the Qianlong Emperor to "pass through Jinan and not enter the city". According to relevant historical records, when the Qianlong Emperor last crossed the city of Jinan, he left such a verse - "That is, the ninth of the present passing through the city of Jinan, kuiyun ten quan is too mature." That is to say, the Qianlong Emperor once had the performance of "nine times through Jinan, but not into the city" in his lifetime.

Jinan City, what mistake did it make that made the Qianlong Emperor "hate for seventeen years"? Can it even be allowed to "nine pass through Jinan without entering the city"?

In fact, the Qianlong Emperor, in his work "Nine Yi Emperor Ancestors Passed Jinan Rhyme", once gave a specific reason for resenting Jinan City:

Empress Xiaoxian fell ill in Jinan and could not afford it, so she always went along.

Empress Xiaoxian Ofe Fucha, the wife of the Qianlong Emperor, is the historical prototype of Empress Fucha in the TV series "Yanxi Raiders". The historical Empress Xiaoxian was evaluated by the Qianlong Emperor as a generation of empresses who were "the sages of the ancients, and the Gaishi is invincible". According to the Records of the Continuation of the Pavilion, Empress Xiaoxian "reigned in the middle of the palace, for ten years, was virtuous and frugal, scrupulously fulfilled her duties, and the harem concubines were all obedient, and the pure emperor gave every salute."

Like Empress Fucha in "Yanxi Raiders", the historical Empress Xiaoxian of the Fucha clan served Empress Chongqing (that is, the famous winner of the palace fight, "Zhen Huan"), "inheriting joy and pure filial piety"; serving the Qianlong Emperor "sincerely and meticulously"; and treating the harem affairs "with meticulous care and importance". The Qianlong Emperor, who was negative, even gave her share of the merits of governing the country to Empress Xiaoxian, believing that Empress Xiaoxian had saved her own worries, and only then did she have the "Qianlong Peak", which was praised by thousands of people.

The relationship between the Qianlong Emperor and Empress Xiaoxian can be described as "deep affection for the flounder" and "raising eyebrows in the case". However, such a wife who was held in the palm of the hand by the Qianlong Emperor also had a bad fate and a red face.

In the sixth year of Yongzheng, the eldest daughter of the Fucha clan died prematurely, before reaching the age of one year;

In the third year of Qianlong, the eldest son of the Fucha clan, Yong Lianxue, the eldest son of the Qianlong Emperor who was secretly appointed crown prince, died at the age of nine;

In the twelfth year of Qianlong, the second son of the Fucha clan, Yong Chun, the second son of the Qianlong Emperor who had high hopes for the throne, died prematurely, at the age of two;

In the first month of the thirteenth year of Qianlong, the Qianlong Emperor began an eastern tour with Empress Chongqing and Empress Xiaoxian. The Qing Shilu Gaozong Shilu records in detail the entire process of this eastern tour:

On February 24, she visited the Confucius Temple; on February 29, she visited Mount Taishan; on the fourth day of March, she arrived in Jinan, and Empress Fucha occasionally felt cold. After four days of recuperation, the Qianlong Emperor ordered Huiluan to travel to The territory of Dezhou, and Empress Fucha died.

As for the specific reasons for the death of Empress Fucha, the Qianlong Emperor gave a specific explanation in the edict issued subsequently:

The empress was suddenly in Jinan, feeling a slight chill. After a few days of rest, I have gradually healed. Sincerely, I am afraid that I will stay in the labor force for a long time. Repeat the thoughts of our Lady. Persuade him to return to Luang. Because of the order of the car to drive back to Beijing. Today to Texas Water Journey. Suddenly, something changed.

In other words, the qianlong emperor's lifelong love, Empress Fucha, fell ill in the city of Jinan and quickly took her life. Therefore, the Qianlong Emperor would resent the city of Jinan, so much so that he could not forgive it for decades, so much so that he "passed through Jinan and did not enter the city" nine times.

The death of Empress Fucha took away the memories of the Qianlong Emperor's life, but also directly affected the Qianlong Emperor's ruling style and policy, and the Qianlong Emperor's ruling style began to shift from loose to severe; even personal feelings shifted from single-mindedness to style. It can be seen from this that the Qianlong Emperor's sincere feelings for this married wife are even more conceivable of the Qianlong Emperor's great hatred for taking away the city of Jinan, the empress dowager of Fucha, and this hatred has remained unresolved in the following 50 years of his life.
