The nominations for the 94th Academy Awards will be announced on February 8 and awarded on March 27. According to the disclosure, "Spider-Man: Homeless" has exceeded $1.37 billion at the global box office will compete for the nomination for Best Picture.

Late last year, "Spider-Man: Homeless" producers Kevin Feige, Amy Pascal and lead actor Tom Holland said in interviews that they would push the film into the Oscar competition for Best Picture. Only one superhero comic book adaptation in Oscar history has been nominated for Best Picture — Black Panther in 2018 and Christopher Nolan's Batman: The Dark Knight.

As of now, "Spider-Man: Homeless" has exceeded $600 million at the North American box office, ranking 10th in film history with a cumulative score of $609 million, and is about to surpass the $623 million box office set by "Avengers". Spider-Man: Homeless is the finale of the Hero trilogy and the official opening of the Marvel Multiverse.
