Fox said the case occurred at three o'clock in the morning of January 1 local time, and according to ABC TELEVISION, Arianna was asleep in bed at the time of the incident.
Police said several shots were fired inside the apartment, which contained 4 adults and 2 children, and Arianna, 4, was shot. Fox reported that Floyd's sister, Latonia, told reporters that Arianna was shot in the abdomen and her ribs were penetrated.
Latonia also said it took hours for first responders to arrive at the scene, so Arianna's father had to drive her to the hospital.
Arianna has reportedly undergone surgery and is currently recuperating at Texas Children's Hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Police said no suspects or motives for the crime had been found.
