During the Xinhai Revolution, Jin Hongsheng of the Yang family in Longyan Village, Hudai Town, served as a personal messenger for Dr. Sun Yat-sen. When Elder Jin was alive, due to my work relationship, I accompanied several comrades of the former Wuxi County History Office and reporters from the provincial and municipal media to visit and interview Jin Hongsheng, and I had some understanding of his life and found many little-known anecdotes about Elder Jin.

Sun Yat-sen was a soldier at the age of 19 and was selected to Sun Yat-sen's guard, where he was deeply trusted and loved

In 1890, Jin Hongsheng was born into a poor peasant family in Hudai, outside the West Gate of Wuxi. After a few years of primary school, to Hudai Town as an apprentice, the young Jin Hongsheng can write can be counted as a bold personality, when he heard Yang Wenjun, a fellow soldier in Nanjing, and Wu Hao, a native of the luqu district of the neighboring township, go home and say that the Manchu Qing government was very corrupt, Empress Dowager Cixi lived an absurd and shameless life, and when the people wanted to live a good life, they must overthrow the Qing Dynasty and other new things, in September 1908, Jin Hongsheng, who was just 19 years old, concealed his parents and wife, and resolutely came to Nanjing with 9 young people and asked to become soldiers. Due to the quota restriction after registration, Jin Hongsheng was ordered to go back and wait for the enlistment notice. It was not until December 24, 1909, that he received a letter from Yang Wenjun asking him to return to Nanjing immediately. In order to prevent his father and wife from dragging their feet, Jin Hongsheng deceived his parents on the pretext of going to Shanghai Xinxin Company to do something, and left his wife, who had been newly married for less than two years, and went to Nanjing to sign up for the army. In August 1911, the troops were on family leave, Jin Hongsheng returned home from Nanjing but did not enter, staying at a friend's house in Dongting Town, two days later, heard that the Wuchang Uprising broke out, the Shanghai-Nanjing Railway was interrupted, and the revolutionary team led by Dr. Sun Yat-sen was recruiting troops in Suzhou, Jin Hongsheng returned to the team and went to defect, and was organized in the Ninth Brigade (Division) Xu Shaozhen's Soviet Army As a second-class soldier, stationed in the area of Gaozi and Longtan west of Zhenjiang. Late one night, the troops were urgently assembled to attack the city of Nanjing, and the Soviet vanguard battalion divided its work to capture Purple Mountain and Tianbao City, and through the cooperation of the Soviet army, the Shanghai army, and the Xiang army, the fierce battle finally forced Zhang Renjun of the Qing Dynasty to negotiate peace on the tenth day of the tenth month of the lunar calendar and conquered the city of Nanjing. On December 29, 1911, Dr. Sun Yat-sen arrived in Nanjing from Shanghai, and on January 1, 1912, as the Provisional President of the Republic of China, he overthrew the imperialist lackey Qing Dynasty, buried the feudal monarchy that had lasted in China for more than 2,000 years, and established a republic, which greatly liberated people spiritually. Because of his meritorious combat and shrewdness, Jin Hongsheng was selected to defend Dr. Sun Yat-sen's guard as Sun Yat-sen's personal messenger. Any visitor who wants to see President Sun must first send his business card to the messenger soldiers and then the messenger soldiers ask whether to receive sun Yat-sen, because Jin Hongsheng has done an excellent job, so he is deeply trusted and favored by Sun Yat-sen.

Sun Yat-sen was a soldier at the age of 19 and was selected to Sun Yat-sen's guard, where he was deeply trusted and loved

When we asked about our impression of Sun Yat-sen, Jin Hongsheng seemed very excited, and said one after another: Approachable, amiable, and really a great man. According to Elder Jin's recollection, Mr. Sun Yat-sen once said to the guards: "In the presidential palace, just like at home, don't be restrained, and when you go outside, you must pay attention to military appearance and military discipline." It can be seen that Sun Yat-sen's indomitable revolutionary spirit had a profound impact on the education of officers and soldiers. This can be seen in a song that officers and soldiers learn to sing. According to Jin Lao's recollection, there was a revolutionary ballad as a contact signal at that time, written by Dr. Sun Yat-sen himself, with eight lyrics:

"Forty million people, forty million people, all brothers,

Hate being the Manchurian who has made me a slave,

One heart, one mind, a good group,

Restore my right to freedom, and overcome my destiny.

Twenty million miles, twenty million miles, good continent,

Hate the xenomorph who has made me a slave,

One heart, one mind, be a good group,

Collect my old mountains and rivers, and beat me to the joy of the revolution!"
