Damian: Milan turned me from a boy to a man in Turin gave me the opportunity to join Manchester United

In an interview with La Stampa, Inter wing-back Damian talked about the team's performance in the first half of the season and the competition for position.

About the competition with Dumfries' position

In a team like Inter, it's normal for every position to compete, and that's been the case from the beginning of the season. For the players, our task is to put the manager into a difficult choice.

About Inter's performance on the pitch

In the game, we try to show ourselves to the outside world. We had a lot of fun playing football and we were all very happy together. We are a team that achieves a lot in many ways, whether it's mindset, desire to win, or stress at critical moments.

About joining Inter and competing for the title with milan as a child

Milan allowed me to grow and I owe them a lot. I was a kid when I joined Milan and I was a real man when I left. At the age of 19, due to the need for playing time, I chose to leave after consultation between the two sides. Nowadays, I am very happy at Inter and I may have come here even earlier. Winning the Serie A title last season was a fantastic thing and this season we want to successfully defend our title.

About the experience of working in Turin

Turin is having a good season under Yuric, and we witnessed that at the Meazza Stadium, they are a formidable and difficult opponent. I'm glad the Turin fans haven't forgotten the important goals I scored and we've grown together for 4 years. During this time, we first returned to Serie A and then to European competition. This experience gave me the opportunity to join Manchester United and made me an internationally renowned player.

About returning to the Italian national team

It was an honour to be able to wear the Italian national team shirt again, and the 2014 World Cup was an unforgettable experience. But now head coach Mancini has made a different choice. Speaking of the World Qualifier play-offs, I still remember hitting the post against Sweden in 2017. After a great European Championship, this time Italy can break into the World Cup.
