People know that the culprit of the "An Shi Rebellion" is An Lushan, but Shi Siming, who is juxtaposed with An Lushan, has greatly reduced his popularity, although this incident is named after the two of them.
Shi Siming and An Lushan were good friends when they were young, and later served the Tang Dynasty together, both of them were officials and prosperous, and Shi Siming himself once wrote a very famous poem "Cherry Poetry", "Cherry, half red and half yellow." Half with King Huai, half with Zhou Zhi", this is because in the Tang Dynasty, cherries were still very precious fruits, even high-ranking officials and officials were difficult to eat.
After Shi Siming got some cherries, he immediately sent someone to quickly send them to his son and deputy generals, that is, the "King of Huai" Shi Chaoyi and Zhou Zhi mentioned in the poem. At that time, some poets suggested to Shi Siming that the King of Huai should be placed in the back and Zhou Zhi should be placed in the front, so that it was more in line with the rhyme.
As a result, Shi Siming was furious when he heard this, saying, "What is the rhyme, how can I put my son after Zhou Solstice for this reason?" The love of fist and fist is vividly reflected, even if it is still felt many years later, but Shi Siming finally died at the hands of his son, that is, The King of Huai, Shi Chaoyi.
It was in the spring of the second year of the first century (761), Shi Chaoyi was appointed to lead an army to build a city for fortifications, and as a result, after the stipulated time arrived, Shi Siming personally came to check and found that although the city was built, the outer walls had not been smeared with mud. Therefore, Shi Siming was furious and summoned All Shi Chaoyi and others in charge of this matter, wanting to kill them on the spot to establish military prestige.
Shi Chaoyi pleaded bitterly to finally escape the disaster, but when Shi Siming left, he also said: "When my big thing is done, all of you should be killed!" Shi Chaoyi was very frightened after hearing this, so he sneaked into Shi Siming's camp with some of the threatened generals that night and killed them, because they all knew very well that Shi Siming could indeed do what he said and did, and he liked the temper of killing people.
In fact, Shi Siming's temper is well known, not only letting him eventually die at the hands of his own son, but also causing one of his generals to surrender to the Tang Dynasty general Li Guangbi. Li Guangbi once took a hundred soldiers out of the city to inspect the enemy's situation, and suddenly heard the scout report that Shi Siming had sent a large army to attack, and the flying sand and stones were only black, but he did not know how many people and horses there were, possibly more than ten thousand.
After Li Guangbi heard the report, he immediately ran back to the camp on horseback, and before leaving, he let these hundred soldiers cut himself off, and soon General Shi Siming's army arrived, and the two armies began to confront each other, seeing that the great war was about to break out, but an enemy general came out: "Dare to ask where General Li is?" The soldier left by Li Guangbi replied, "I have returned to the camp!" The enemy general asked again, "I have an army of 5,000 elites, how many of you do you have?" The soldier replied, "100 people!" The enemy will sigh heavily when he hears this answer: "I surrender!" ”
Later people were puzzled by this, but Li Guangbi answered people's doubts, he said that this was judged according to Shi Siming's character, Shi Siming's character was already cruel and murderous, if he heard that five thousand elites did not capture me at the hands of a hundred people, then the leading general would inevitably die, if he did not want to die, then he could only surrender to me.
