On December 31, 2021 and January 1, 2022, at 19:30, the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra commissioned international music master Tan Dun to create and perform the Chinese music version of the "Ode to Dunhuang " Concert of "Ode to Mercy" in the world premiere of the Shanghai Grand Theatre, and many singers joined hands with the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra and the Lanzhou Concert Hall Choir to play the New Year's Eve in Shanghai with an artistic feast of "a heard Silk Road" and send the best prospects for the upcoming 2022.

"Dun, Daiya; Huang, Shengye". Dunhuang is known as the "Art Museum of the Eastern World", a historical witness to the exchange and integration of Civilizations on the Silk Road, and an important window for the world to understand Chinese culture.
The two concerts specially invited tan Dun, an internationally renowned composer and conductor, together with the well-known baritone Shen Yang, mezzo-soprano Wu Hongni, tenor Han Peng, soprano Guo Sen, original ecological soprano Ze Renyangjin, original ecological bass hasbagan, Dunhuang dance rebound pipa Li Shengnan, Dunhuang Xiqin LuLu, Fengshou Zhenyi Liu Xuanyi, Dunhuang Huangyi Xu Hongbing and other artists, joined hands with the Shanghai National Orchestra and lanzhou concert hall choir to form a "one audible Silk Road" Chinese music version of "Dunhuang Mercy Ode". In February 2019, "Dunhuang Ode to Mercy" was performed in Los Angeles, USA, and the famous young conductor Du Dameier conducted the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra for its American premiere. Dudamel was with Tan Dun at the time, and he said to Tan Dun: "'Dunhuang Ode to Mercy' tells a touching story, and it might be more touching to hear the version played on Chinese instruments. ”

It is understood that in order to trace the sound of Dunhuang, Tan Dun went to Dunhuang more than a dozen times to collect wind, traveled to the National Museum of China, the British Library, and the National Library of France, and saw the ancient music and dance scores of Dunhuang that were lost page by page. The concert draws heavily on Tang music, and restores ancient instruments such as the rebound pipa and xiqin in the Dunhuang murals, interspersing traditional Chinese instruments with music, allowing the audience to travel the Silk Road with music.
The world premiere of the Chinese music version of "Ode to Dunhuang And Ode to Mercy" is also based on the characteristics of the national band, the dramatic plot of the mural is presented with music, through the combination of the mural and the musical melody, showing the great Dunhuang art, highlighting the spiritual power of goodness and upward mobility in traditional Chinese culture, thus unveiling the prosperity and beauty of Dunhuang for thousands of years, and working together to show the era style of Haipai folk music.
