The phrase "ten years to sharpen a sword", many people have heard, it comes from the following Tang poem.
The first sentence, "Ten years to sharpen a sword", just five words, has created a hard-working, serious, and refined swordsman image. "Ten years" indicates that the time is very long, and "one sword" indicates that the field is sufficiently specialized. The word "grinding" is very graphic, making people feel as if they have seen the scene of the swordsman grinding his sword day and night, year after year, and the sound of Huo Huo's grinding sword seems to be in his ears.
This poem, ostensibly saying that it took a long time for the swordsman to polish the sword, in fact, it was talking about Jia Dao himself, and it took a long time for the cold window to read it.
Jia Dao said that he had sharpened a sword in ten years, not an exaggeration, but deserved it. The word "scrutiny" is a metaphor for repeatedly pondering, comparing, deliberating, and thinking when writing or acting, and the allusion to this word comes from Jia Dao's poem "The monk knocks (pushes) the door of the moon." The Taiping Guangji also recorded Jia Dao: "Although he sat and slept and ate, he did not quit chanting." "Say that whether he is walking or sitting, sleeping, or eating, he is constantly chanting and writing poetry.
Next, the Frost Blade was never tried, and although the swordsman spent a lot of time polishing the sword, the sword was never sheathed. After the sword is sheathed, there are only two results, one is extremely sharp and stunning, and the other is unremarkable and featureless.
In Jia Dao's heart, he naturally felt that it should be the former. He studied hard, of course, he felt that he was full of knowledge, and if he didn't make a sound, he was already a hit. The poet is very eager to show his "sword", that is, to show his talents.
Finally, "Today, who has anything wrong with him?" The swordsman decided to pull out the sword he had collected for a long time, show it to the person in front of him, and tell him that if anyone had something unfair, he would definitely draw his sword to help him, punish evil and promote good.
However, in real life, what happened to Jia Dao was contrary to what he expected. He once took the imperial examination, but he did not pass the first place.
Jia Dao does have a certain talent, but his emotional intelligence can be said to be not high. He felt that he was more hardworking than anyone else and was extremely talented, so he did not look at other candidates in the eyes. He also wrote in the poem "Sick Cicada": "Yellow finches and birds, both have harmful feelings." "Saying that they are the cicadas that are independent of the world, the other yellow finches and birds want to harm themselves."
Perhaps, Jia Dao wants to express his clean-sleeved, noble and independent integrity, but in the eyes of others, he is a self-respecting, pretentious, like to satirize others for no reason, and is not a cultivated person. In today's parlance, there is paranoia about being victimized.
Ten years of grinding a sword, these 5 words are already familiar to many people, and this spirit of hard work is also worth learning.
