A bizarre historical photograph of the Rockefeller family

This is a photo of Michael Rockefeller. If you don't know his first name, you'll definitely feel familiar with his last name. Michael's great-grandfather was John D. Rockefeller, the richest man in the world. Michael's father was Nelson Rockefeller, Vice President of the United States. His uncle Winthrop Rockefeller was governor of Arkansas, and his eldest cousin Jay Rockefeller was governor of West Virginia.

Greatness is standard for every member of the Rockefeller family. So for Michael, who graduated from Harvard with honors, he had to make himself great.

But, like most giants, Michael had a quest for adventure before he had to confine himself to the governor's mansion or the Capitol Hill. He decided to study and collect the art of the New Guineans, located on an island near Indonesia.

3 miles (5 kilometers) from the shore, Michael's boat broke down and the two guides had to swim to the shore for help. But after two days of waiting, an impatient Michael decided to swim ashore on his own.

After that, he disappeared, and this photo was Michael's last.

Hundreds of journalists traveled to New Guinea to find out what was going on. The Rockefellers hired private detectives, planes, helicopters, boats and thousands of locals scoured the island and at sea, hoping to find something. Rumors spread like wildfire.

57 years later, the most disturbing rumors were confirmed by the National Geographic Research Team. Two missionaries who had lived with the locals and spoke the local language recounted the tragic fate of Michael Rockefeller. Because the Dutch killed four aborigines in 1958, the aborigines looked for an opportunity to take revenge.

Michael survived the swim. After being pulled ashore by the natives, his body was pierced by a spear. His head was cut off and his brain plasma was eaten raw. The rest of Michael's body was cooked in a pot and then eaten by the Aborigines, and everyone shared the meal. His thigh bones were made into daggers, and the bones of his lower legs were made into fishing forks.

The smiles of the three locals in the photo seem to be expecting Michael's ultimate fate.
