There is such a place in our country, and almost all the people buried in it are well-known and famous people, so where is the place? I'm sure many people must have heard the name of this place – Babao Mountain. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, in order to commemorate the many revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed their precious lives for the revolutionary cause of our country, the government also specially requisitioned Babaoshan, located in the west of Beijing, and also built it into the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.
The alias of Babao Mountain is also called Black Mountain, Babao Mountain is mainly composed of two peaks in the east and west, and there are also many scenic spots and monuments in Babao Mountain. For example, in the Ming Dynasty, there was Yanshou Temple, Lingfu Temple, Chaoyang Nunnery, and there was a Niangniang Temple on the West Peak. But these are not nothing, the most famous is the non-Praise Zhonghuguo Temple, this temple is also built to commemorate the famous general Gang Bing during the Yongle period. I'm afraid that no one thought that BabaoShan would be so famous at that time.

Eight Treasure Mountain
Everyone knows Puyi, and he is buried here. Although he also became a commoner from the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty because of his identity, due to his special status, he was also buried in Babaoshan at the time of his death. After several decades, his widow also moved him out to the edge of the QingXi Mausoleum. It can be said that BabaoShan is very famous, and many people are also proud to be buried in Babaoshan, so why is this?
First of all, let's talk about the reason for the name Babaoshan, the origin of its name also has a story. At that time, people said that there were eight treasures buried under the Babao Mountain, namely the golden bull, the golden horse, the golden rooster, the golden mill, the golden mill, the golden bean, the golden dustpan and the golden basket.
Later, a feng shui gentleman came here, he found a door under the accidental hit, and found the golden beans inside, but in some accidents, he was not able to get it, and he also regrettably left. But because of this, people know that there is really a treasure in the mountain, so they named this mountain Eight Treasure Mountain.
However, according to the survey, There are really eight kinds of treasures in Babaoshan Mountain, but they are architectural treasures. The surrounding area of BabaoShan is rich in eight building materials, namely refractory soil, white clay, graystone, laterite, green ash, crucible soil, yellow ginger, and sandstone. In this way, Babao Mountain is indeed worthy of its name.
However, in the past, it was not called Babao Mountain, but red furnace mountain, which is related to the Gangbing we mentioned above. It was during the Ming Dynasty, and after Zhu Yuanzhang became emperor, he had the idea of moving the capital to Beijing, so he sent Liu Bowen out to see if he could succeed. Liu Bowen was worried that there would be changes in the road, so Zhu Di sent General Gang Bing to escort Liu Bowen with 50,000 elite soldiers.
Gang Bing
Gang Bingke was a very brave general, he rode a white horse, and his weapon was a zhangba spear, which was said to be similar to Zhang Fei. However, he is more than Zhang Feihui, he is good at arranging formations, and he is also very good at Liujia Tianshu, and the reason why he is similar to Zhang Fei is because he also has the courage of ten thousand men.
While the procession was marching, they encountered a female general blocking the way. Gang Bing fought with her but never won or lost, and the female general also deliberately fled, and indeed attracted Gang Bing to chase. However, the female general had set up a ecstasy array near the Red Furnace Mountain early, waiting for Gang Bing to come.
Originally, Gang Bing was familiar with the formation, and it was very easy for him to break the formation, but because of his light enemy, he was already trapped, and the surrounding area was full of fire, Gang Bing was born afraid of fire, and when he saw this, he also rode around on a horse, but rushed to a big red furnace. Due to the burning of the fire, Gang Bing was killed.
Because Gang Bing was Zhu Di's subordinate, Zhu Di later built a temple for him in order to commemorate Gang Bing, that is, the Baozhong Huguo Temple that we mentioned at the beginning. And it is said that a pile of furnace ashes was left in the place where Heung died in battle. After a thunderstorm, the ash of the furnace turned into eight-colored soil, and the local people called it BabaoShan.
This is the origin of Babaoshan, but why do many people want to be buried in Babaoshan? One of the simplest reasons is that Babaoshan is a treasure of feng shui, which is not only beautiful in scenery, but also close to Beijing's West Mountain, which is a branch of the Taihang Mountains. It is like a soaring python, guarding and looking at the city of Beijing from the west.
As Babaoshan underwent historical changes, it also became a place for senior eunuchs of the Ming and Qing dynasties to retire and bury. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Japanese learned that Babaoshan buried many loyal subjects from the Ming and Qing dynasties, and they showed compassion for Babaoshan. They forcibly occupied the area as bandits, and built the Zhongling Pagoda to bury the japanese officers who had fallen in battle, which can be said to be shameless. Later, after our victory in the War of Resistance, the Zhongling Pagoda was also demolished.
During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, many of China's anti-war heroes were buried here, and in the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the state also requisitioned Babaoshan to build the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery. But the requirements for being buried here are very high, and not everyone can be buried here. If you want to be buried in Babaoshan, you must first have made great contributions to the country or the people, and you must be a figure with strong social influence. This shows that the requirements for burial in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery are very strict.
Most importantly, even if you have been approved for burial in the Babaoshan Cemetery at that time, if you are found to have violated the law, you will be relocated from the Babaoshan Cemetery.
Since the completion of the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery, the people buried here are people of very high status. Such as leaders, patriotic democrats, famous scientists, writers, senior engineers and technicians, international friends, revolutionary martyrs and cadres. Even General Zhang Zizhong, as we know him, was buried here. And buried in cemetery No. 81 is also our well-known Marshal He Long.
Conclusion: Since the construction of the Babaoshan Cemetery, the Babaoshan represents no longer a simple cemetery, it has become a symbol of national honor. The Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery represents the place where our national spirit and glory lie. It is a sacred place for us to remember the revolutionary martyrs and to remember the past history and revolutionary spirit.
Babaoshan has also been admired by people at home and abroad for a long time, and has been given a unique meaning. The loveliest people who have fought all their lives for the cause of revolution and sacrificed their lives, Babaoshan is the place where their souls return. We will inherit their spirit, inherit their glory. We must remember that it is their efforts that we have a beautiful and happy life today. May the heroes rest in peace, we will inherit your spirit, will strengthen our China!
