Our army once had an ace undercover whose identity was very secretive and maintained only one-line contact with great men. This person's name is Hao Keyong, and few people know his real name alone, but many people must have heard of his pseudonym Fan Ming.
Born into a prominent background, he joined our party under the influence of his brother
Hao Keyong was born in Xi'an, the Hao family is a local famous family, his father graduated from the officer school, can be regarded as one of the founders of the Northwest Army. Born in such a family, Hao Keyong had no worries about food and clothing, and received a good education since childhood. Although the family is well-off, Hao Keyong did not covet enjoyment, but focused on learning. Through his unremitting efforts, he was finally successfully admitted to Fudan University, majoring in philosophy and Chinese. Although he is diligent and studious, he is not just a nerd who only knows how to read. During his studies in Shanghai, he often participated in various patriotic movements, and in the process was deeply inspired, hoping that in the future he would also be able to contribute to the revolutionary cause.
The one who really led Hao Keyong into the revolutionary road was his elder brother Hao Kejun, who was a party member at the time and the head of the party organization of a school, and after the outbreak of the Battle of Songhu, he led his younger brother to join the volunteer army, thus opening their revolutionary road. During the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Hao Keyong also personally founded an anti-Japanese salvation group called the "Xia Yi Society", in which he served as the president, and his main job was to call on members of the group to fight against Japan together. Because Hao Keyong's family origin is relatively special, the central government decided to assign him a special task.

Hao Keyong was ordered to serve as the leader of the teaching team of the Kuomintang 38th Army, engaged in united front work and military movement work. After taking office, he actively carried out propaganda work, and often collected information from our party publications to carry out propaganda in the teaching team. Under his subtle influence, the number of party members in the ranks of the 38th Army surged, from more than twenty to more than six hundred at the beginning. Under the leadership of Hao Keyong, the 38th Army was strict in its administration and extremely effective in combat, and this change soon attracted the attention of the Kuomintang top brass, who had no choice but to suspend his work and go to Yan'an to ask his superiors how to carry out the next work.
During the yan'an debriefing period, the chairman received him, and he had several in-depth conversations with him, making detailed arrangements for how the 38th Army would be led in the future and how the work would be arranged. During the conversation, the chairman said that the two would maintain a one-line contact in the future, and his identity would be absolutely confidential to the outside world. In order to ensure personal safety, all future work carried out in the 38th Army needs to be instructed in advance. Just as he left Yan'an at the end of the conversation, the chairman personally changed his name for him. Because Hao Keyong's uncle's surname was Fan, he assumed the pseudonym Fan Ming from then on, and few people have heard of his real name since then. After returning to the 38th Army again, Fan Ming carried out various tasks as usual, and successively developed hundreds of party members, laying a good foundation for the future development of various tasks.
After the end of the war, Hao Keyong received a new task. The organization hoped that he would personally travel to Tibet and then enlist the support of the 10th Panchen Lama. This task was critical and arduous, and in the end Hao Keyong successfully completed the work with his own efforts. Later, he proposed to the chairman to restore his original name, but the chairman said: Fan Ming's pseudonym has a certain influence in the country, and if he changes back to the original name, it may not be conducive to the development of the work, so he has always used the pseudonym.
After retiring at an old age, Hao Keyong regained his youthful love of Traditional Chinese medicine and began to study herbal medicine, relying on his techniques to help many patients. In 2010, 96-year-old Hao Keyong died of illness in his hometown, and many people spontaneously held commemorative activities for him.
Fan Ming contributed to the revolutionary cause all his life, and without complaint, he engaged in the most dangerous work, going deep into the enemy to assist our army in various tasks. Once his identity is exposed, he will pay the price of his life, but Hao Keyong did not back down, but took the initiative to take the job, such a self-sacrificing spirit is commendable. In his later years, he suffered a decade-long persecution before being rehabilitated, and in the face of the ups and downs of life, Hao Keyong was calm, and such an attitude towards the world is worth learning.
