At the age of 13, in order to alleviate his father's burden, the sensible Chen Shaomin went to Qingdao alone and did child labor in a factory, and at the age of 19, chen Shaomin's hometown was in a famine, and his father and brother unfortunately died of illness. In 1923 she secretly joined the trade union with the help of revolutionary comrades and participated in several workers' strike movements. After the matter was exposed, she was expelled from the factory, but Chen Shaomin did not give up her revolutionary work in this way, she went to an American middle school with the help of friends, during which she secretly joined the Communist Youth League, and became a party member by virtue of her excellent performance.
Later, she returned to Qingdao to lead the workers' movement to resist the movement, when Chen Shaomin was only in his 20s, but he felt very mature, and was often called Sister Chen by his comrades. When the Anhui Incident broke out in January 1941, Chen Shaomin was appointed deputy political commissar by his superiors in the New Fourth Army, and in January 1943, he became deputy secretary of the party committee of the Yu'e Border Region of the Communist Party of China. In addition to being responsible for the rear work, Chen Shaomin often led his fighters to carry out guerrilla warfare, establish a base area for the revolutionary organization, and continuously improve the combat effectiveness of the organization.
At that time, although our army had many generals with outstanding abilities, there were very few female cadres like Chen Shaomin, so she had a very high reputation and prestige in our army. In June 1949, she was transferred to the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, and after the founding of New China, she became the chairman of the national textile trade union.
