It means that taking Beijing is like cutting down a big tree, there is no need to take the main trunk of the big tree in Beijing first, you should weaken the national strength of the Ming Dynasty step by step first, so as to strengthen its own strength, then taking Beijing, the heart of the Ming Empire, is also just around the corner, and even in the end, without doing it yourself, it is convenient to perish.
After that, the Qing army detoured to enter the customs, the target was not Beijing, but to plunder various resources in other places, and under this circumstance, the Ming Dynasty was tired of coping and was getting weaker and weaker, and the Qing regime was more and more powerful.
After the Qing army entered the customs, there were differences within the ruling clique, some people thought that plundering in Beijing, leaving a number of troops to defend the town, the main force still retreated to the outside of the pass; there are more people who are undecided, do not know what to do next, and do not have the idea of unifying the world.
Under these circumstances, the regent Dorgon did not want to return to Guanwai, so on the grounds that Emperor Taiji once said, "If you get Beijing, you will be in vain, in order to make progress", he did not agree to stop here, and he did not agree to return to Guanwai without thinking of making progress, but wanted to move the capital to Beijing in an attempt to achieve greater achievements.
This shows that when Emperor Taiji was alive, when the situation was unclear, he had already speculated about the situation after that, and his attitude was to enter the customs and move the capital, not to mention the plot of the world, but the ambition was still very large, it was a person who did not think of making progress and stuck to one acre and three points of land.
If Emperor Taiji lived until after the fall of the Ming Dynasty, he would definitely lead the Qing army into the customs and move the capital to Beijing, which would not be worse than the regent Dolgun, and possibly even better. However, Emperor Taiji died suddenly on the eve of the fall of the Ming Dynasty, missed the immortal merit of entering the customs, and did not lead the Qing Dynasty to transition from a divided regime to a national regime, so he failed to claim the ancestors.

In this case, although Emperor Taiji of the Qing Dynasty was the founding emperor of the Qing Dynasty, according to his merits, even if he did not complete the key entry, Nurhaci was called Taizu, and he was called Gaozu, which was not excessive. However, in order to elevate nurhaci's status, emperor taiji can only be the position of the second-generation emperor, so the temple name is Taizong.
